Fun stuff This has a fun quality to it and an interesting sound. At the same time, I didn't find that the 2nd and 3rd stanzas added anything new to the song that wasn't already present in the first verse. From the perspective of effective songwriting, I feel that each verse needs to be adding something of import and "advancing" the story. I also felt there were some cliches, one or two of which were dated and/or "over the top" ("dirty boozy music", "old motorcycle's ready to ride", etc.). The "hook" to this song, perhaps, is the vibe itself? That is, lyrically, I don't know that there is a true "hook" that would grab the listener, but maybe the overall vibe is sufficient to do so? All in all, this is a fun song with a cool feel to it. Nicely done! |

right then chris vocal has an early kristopherson feel .. very cool .. only small nit .. up the vocal levels a wee bit ... is always easy to second guess yourself when the horse is outta the barn but honestly i love the raw chickaboom live groove here alot |

Nice song Chris Needs a little polishing, but there's no denying your ready for the weekend. lol Bring up the vox a little and you might try using a little compression on the vox to smooth the levels out some. And mowguy3 has it right about putting down the rhythm and then coming back to play those chops and fills. Nice tune, look forward to the new mix when you get-r-dun. Ed |

like this Chris - great song/lyrics and beautifully played. Like your vocals... a lot. But where do you find a Honky Tonk and a turnpike in York? (Whatever they are?)
Cheers
