thought I'd pay you a visit- love the sound of this very much. It reminds me a lot of some of the Johnny Cash early Sun stuff. In fact very Sun indeed. Sounds like it was recorded on a hot afternoon in 706, Union Avenue about 1957. Lovely track with lots of natural atmosphere. Love the end as well. John |

Oooh! Martin D-28! I owned a D-35 with a 3-piece back, but sold it to prop up my college finances many moons ago. I regret it to this day. Your emulator sounds pretty good and you sound like you're having a lot of fun with this song. Thanks for the revival of a style of music overlooked by the music populous... Or should I say, most of us. The only place we can hear tunes like these (in the U.S.) is on a cable TV channel called ENCORE. I was at my in-laws yesterday and they were watching an episode of the Gene Autry show. I must admit that, although the story lines were tailored for early prime time TV audiences, the music performances by his band were chock full of western swing and his western folk ballads made you want to howl at the moon... I mean that in a good way :) BTW: CF Martin Guitar Factory is 60 miles from where I live and my wife's nephew gives daily tours of the factory and museum! You must download their catalog in PDF format (free). There you will find some of the finest mother-of-pearl designs, which is still inlaid by hand. It is truly a craft. http://www.mguitar.com/ Thanks for commenting on Misty. I truly appreciate it! Keep tickling that fretboard! |

For a Brit you sure got those country blues!!! Awesome! |

Hi Chris, thanks very much for taking to the time to demo your Variax. I think it's one of the best emulations of an acoustic guitar I've heard. Maybe some EQ adjustments could round off the sound a little. I've heard enough to seriously consider getting one myself.
Great playing and singing of this old cowboy tune by the way!
Best wishes
Steve
