Description
A toccata for grand organ in the Romantic style of Charles Marie Widor. (Just letting the fingers out for a little run. Makes 'em feel happy.)

Tocatta in G
WOW PAUL!!! This is incredible! This is as good as any tocatta by ANY composer that I've ever heard. So, you were just out for a little finger walk? You did this on the fly?? You're scaring me! It's ridiculous that you're not world famous. (Are you? I don't get out much........)

How
Magnificent sounding. I feel as though I'm in a Cathedral at a Royal Wedding, waiting for the service to begin as the congregation are treated to this wonderful organ music. Really lovely composition and I love the photo that goes with this, regards M

It's been awhile
since we've heard your organ work, as Feter said. This was marvelous. I especially loved the long bass notes in the early measures with the beautiful harmonies floating above them.
I fully agree with Magnatone too. :-))
God bless,
Rick

gorgeous and majestic
I liked the little chromatic twist at the very beginning, almost like a wink. Then wonderful organ work all the way through. One quick thought... the notes on the high register where you do a bunch of 32nd notes sort of blended together and were not distinct, perhaps you need those to be on a different "organ sample" with more decay, so the notes are crisper? Oh, and the ending of this was cut short... give the audio file some space at the end for the echoes to gently subside before trimming :-) Loved this, Paul, as always! Exquisite writing and playing.

Hi Paul......
I thoroughly enjoyed this organ excursion.
A pipe organ always has that Gothic ambiance that I always enjoy listening to, and your piece has everything a great organ piece should have in it.
Take care.

Great sound. You should let your fingers go more often :)
Thanks

Okay, my download...
...says, 'Toccata in G'... Which is it, dagnab it?
You really do have a feel for this, as if you are actually recording it in a cathedral and sort of playing with and against the echoes... Using the ambience to your advantage...
Almost makes me want to buy a subwoofer. I think pipe organs are where the whole pyrotechnic high fidelity love-of-bass thing began... Not that you honk down in that region here...
You actually capture a lot of that mid-to-upper range majesty, the stuff that seems to float in the air of a big cathedral...

Different thatn 'Dolls' -
That's for sure. It's nice to hear you on the organ again. This is the kind of thing I love to listen to, but wouldn't even attempt to play - even if someone else had written out the music for me. Very festive!

Reminds me
Some places reminds me of the mystic music of Csar Franck. Do you know any of his organ works?
Splendid by the way!
