Lyrics JACOBITE

The Murderous ring of steel on steel
The highland cry, the praying wheel
In rosy white, the shadows come
The English sentry overrun

We’ll kiss all the girls at noon
We’ll march to a rebel drum
There’s blood in the eye of the moon
No regret in the songs of the sun

The clinking of the smuggler’s wares
The devil finds you unprepared
Black money runs, the knotted noose
The whining gate, the prisoner loose

What is it now, this wrangling?
Who can speak for the worth of a king?
Come tell me how this schism unfolds
The world of the meek and the blood on the gold

Shadowy prayers and subterfuge
The priestly lust for fire and deluge
Armies at angles, meeting head on
Logic in shambles and sanity gone

We’ll kiss all the girls at noon
We’ll march to a rebel drum
There’s blood in the eye of the moon
No regret in the songs of the sun

A deposition, the theft of a throne
A yielded position, a chill on the bone
The fight to a standstill, young boys in the field
This blot on our history, this cleft in the shield

We’ll kiss all the girls at noon
We’ll march to a rebel drum
There’s blood in the eye of the moon
No regret in the songs of the sun

This bloody perversion, doomed to repeat
This cancerous dance, this song of defeat
This act of coercion, this theft of our youth
Religious angst, our gospel of truth
We’ll kiss all the girls at noon
We’ll march to a rebel drum
There’s blood in the eye of the moon
No regret in the songs of the sun

Very nice. Maybe this is not really Alt Rock. That might be why there's a lack of support.

Very nice work. Great production. Full of energy.

Really liking your stuff.

What genre should it be?
Always hazy about it. Electronica, Industrial, gothic? Anyway, glad you like it. It is being played on one or two indie radio stations - which is pleasing for a DIY effort!

Then it's Indie
Eletro Indie, if there were such a genre.

Echoes of KMFDM
Sublime lyrics and production. You're quite the wordsmith, judging by this track.

What hardware/software do you use to get your sound? It's really tight.

I thought the arrangement pattern in the tune became a little repetitive, but the sound and writing are spot on.

I'm off to listen to more of yours.

Aspiring writer ...
...as well as musician. I'm always trying to find crossover between the literary and the musical. I had just read about the Jacobite rebellion - and thought it had some interesting analogues to political events today.

This is mostly GB with some mastering algorhythm's applied later.

Man ..

.. that's loud! lol .. and good too! First I've heard of you .. saw you faved me as an artist .. but I have no idea of any song of mine you liked .. but anyways, I came to have a listen ..

"Ye Jacobites by name .. lend an ear, lend an ear .."

Mix/production is all very professional .. which I'd expect from an album/promo .. I was amazed how much I was reminded of another MJ artist here "lengold" in the singing style in particular and changes.

Enjoyed it .. nice mix of unusual things .. not sure about the 'Nightrider' though .. ;o)

I listened to a few of yours earlier - and went back to post a comment. I appreciate the feedback - I'll check out lengold!

Ditto
Indeed. It is a tight, driving thing. So crisp. I'm diggin' the grungy touch on the electronica beats. I'm just in the process of acclimating my ears to GenghisTron and the like, and, though it's fairly superficial similarity, this tune does put me in mind of them. Congrats on the radio play!

Thanks!
I must check out this band - is it your band - are they on here?

This is very
unique. You have a great deal of control with your voice. Very engaging song. I like it. Dobry. Dzieki.
