the most perfect tone. Melts butter. The phrasing sweet.

Ibstrat said 232 days ago
Thanks for the
comment.Glad you liked it.

Very cool
Love the sound from the guitar, and, as always, your wonderful touch. Great playing, and great fun. This is music to make a body smile! The sky is blue and it's a sunny day. Nicely done. Peace.

Ibstrat said 232 days ago
Good day sunshine
Nothing like blues to make a person happy.I lived in a house with a bunch of musicians in college. The guy in the room next to mine was a keyboard player who was constantly playing blues piano.I guess it kind of seeped into my brain. My song isn't 1/10 as good as what he was doing!

composerclark said 233 days ago
:-)
I LOVE THIS! You make it sound so easy, but, as a guitarist, I know it ain't. I love the way you build this... A very composed improv! You are a fantastic musician.

Ibstrat said 232 days ago
Thanks Clark
I did have some worked out riffs in the improv section, but I can never seem to play what i had worked out so I{accidently} go in a different direction. Some of the ideas for double stops i got from watching the phenomenal guitarist Scottie Anderson.Check out his version of "Pennies From Heaven" on youtube. He plays things that are not humanly possible.

Ejh said 233 days ago
Dear Mark,
Stop making it look easy.

Sincerely yours,

Ibstrat said 232 days ago
You mean
you can SEE me thru this screen? I knew I was being watched!I can tell what's going on now- those pickups on my guitar are actually monitoring my thoughts... "picking up" my brain waves..

Feter said 233 days ago

Yeah this is the touch of a master ..the idea

Wow Mark!
Just what I needed to hear! I dig that finger style you got going on. Impressive! "I'm not worthy!" is all that I'm thinking... That was a FUN listen, made me bust out my guitar and start soloin' over it. You ROCK!

Smokin' sir.

Chris

Ibstrat said 231 days ago
Hey
if you want to overdub some riffs over it go ahead- I'd love to hear what that would sound like1

Vic Holman said 233 days ago
that's........
a pretty big guitar 'ya got there fella.

very smoooooth moves on the fretboard. very nicely done!

Ibstrat said 231 days ago
Thanks
Vic- great to hear from you.

futzpucker said 233 days ago
Man, can you play...
I continue to be dazzled by your technique, control, and execution. And I continue to love *what* you play as well. This swings nicely, and feels great. Spectacular playing, Mark.

Ibstrat said 230 days ago
Thanks
very much.I enjoy playing this kind of old time blues style- glad you liked it!

DWL said 233 days ago

Thanks
Dick.I'm glad you enjoyed it.

One day, I'd like to be able to play half as good as this Mark. Fantastic playing and a much better recording than you've done previously, which is really good to hear.
Thanks, Neil

Ibstrat said 230 days ago
I think
I have kind of figured out how to make at least a decent recording with my limited equipment. You have been a big help in pointing out buzzing, etc. Thanks!

MarkHolbrook said 233 days ago
Echo the above!
Sweet sound, amazing guitar work. What else can be said!?

Ibstrat said 230 days ago
Thanks for the
encouragement.I really enjoy your music.

davisamerica said 232 days ago
man mark
memphis cool ... amazing playing my friend ... downloaded and thanks!

Ibstrat said 230 days ago
I've
never been to Memphis but some pretty great music has been made there. Thanks for your comment!

Macaudion said 232 days ago
No surprise...
Well that was a fun listen, Mark. Your music is always compete w/ what it needed. Anything more or less might seem to take away from the pureness of the spirit from that which you've shared. Maybe this speaks of my lack of musical knowhow or perhaps, maybe it's just my state of being for this particular moment and song.

In any event, I really enjoyed listening to this. Thanks again, for sharing your art.

Dion

Ibstrat said 230 days ago
Thanks
for checking it out Dion.I hope we can work together soon-I need to get some better equipment...

Pete_NB said 232 days ago
Way cool
Love the double stop runs. At least that's what I think they were, this is advanced stuff!

Great tone and touch.

Ibstrat said 229 days ago
Double stops
Yea I've been messing around with a double stop technique that I got from watching Scottie Anderson(Check him out on youtube-he's unbelievable)I can't come close to what he's doing!

oldlibmike said 232 days ago
Makes guitaring sound easy!
This is great - Jorma-ish? Love he bluesy feel and how easily it seem to flow - wish I had the live instrument skills to pull something like this off. Look forward to more.

Ibstrat said 229 days ago
I'm
a big Jorma fan-thanks for the comment!

woofer3 said 231 days ago

I love your pic as well with the cute dog.
Right then lets boogie on down. lol

Cheers Peace Dee.

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
He is a
great dog.You can leave a plate of food on the floor, leave for an hour, come back and he won't have touched it!
Just listened to Sunbeem1-very enjoyable! Thanks for the comment.

Doadars Uncle said 230 days ago
Very nice solo!
Great little ditty for a spring day!

Sweet and clean.

Musta been fun!

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
Thanks
very much.I love playing Stuff like this- I'm glad that some people like it.

kristyjo said 230 days ago
This made me
Boogie along in my chair. You did this in one take I'll bet. I'm jealous. You make the blues sound so happy!

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
Well
I still haven't figured out how to punch out mistakes. It's probably better that way-I have to practice more!

Scorpjammer said 230 days ago
You make it...
... sound so easy and deceptively simple. CURSE YOU! lol!

I love the triple stops... You been hangin' around Scotty Anderson?

E:)

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
Triple stops
Well I'll never come close to Scottie, but I did steal a couple of his riffs! Thanks for the comment!

bud said 230 days ago
You must be one fine dancer
the way you move is so smooth.

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
Actually
I'm a horrible dancer.I dance just about as well as I play bluegrass music.

chipan said 229 days ago
boogie
I really enjoy this kind of honest music. Playing solo guitar is so dangerous. The texture is so transparent you can hear every detail. But as others here have commented you make it sound so easy! Much respect and admiration!

chip

Ibstrat said 228 days ago
Thanks for the
comment. One of my inspirations for this kind of stuff is a great musician named Paul Rishell.Check out his website paulandannie.com-his early solo albums are incredible.

Moviz said 229 days ago
As always
you've managed to give us that wonderful tone that reminds me of someone and I can't quite grasp who it is.. Les Paul maybe? It's a very 'warm' sound. Excellent boogie playing too, love it

Ibstrat said 227 days ago
Thanks
Moviz.Les Paul probably would object to me playing a Strat instead of a Les Paul. Thanks for the comment!

egobandit1 said 228 days ago
supreme
reminds me of some hot tuna live that is I just love this!

Ibstrat said 227 days ago
I did
learn a bunch of Hot Tuna songs at one point like"Death Don't Have no Mercy" (Actually by Rev. Gary Davis)I have a huge amount of respect for the old acoustic blues players like Blind Blake,Tommy johnson,Skip James, etc. Amazing stuff! Hot Tuna is a great band.

Tadashi Togawa said 228 days ago

Elevator_Funk said 219 days ago
Well...
I'm going to just pretend you played that bass line separately and then recorded the melody, otherwise I would just feel bad.

Anyways, I don't know where you live, but I would definitely take lessons from you. Plus, I already know Sweet Child O' Mine. :P

Ibstrat said 197 days ago
Thanks
Very much!

Bob Rodgers said 201 days ago
Great
guitar playing! I could listen to this all day, I would like to play as well as you do!
Superb tone and very much enjoyed!
