Excellent in every respect. The vocals, instruments the recording, lyrics and bells... who could forget the bells? LOL (I think we're psychic). (Thanks for the 'fave' on my song too) I really enjoyed this and I was listening to your voice and trying to keep up with the French pronunciation as well as read the English, but I'll have to do it again to keep up, cheers M |

the Maid of Orleans? This must be the story of Joan of Arc... I have been to the church/museum that is put up in her honor in Rouen some years ago. It is an amazing, breath taking story... Your music is so classic and you have made a suited mood for the story. Brilliant lyrics, and I see how you couldn't reduce it by a word:) This made me do some research on the web to freshen up a bit on the things I remembered about her. She is indeed a saint. |

Beau You dont post songs often Marc, but when you do, its always worth the wiat. This is truely haunting - the bells and delicate keyboards create a fantastic atmosphere, and your vocal on this is great - husky, deep, emotional. I love how the mood changes throughout the track, becoming truely uplifting as the drums kick in. Always a treat to have a new track from you my friend - you've spoiled us with this. steve |

Your music... always touches my heart. This has an intimate poetry and passion that in some ways remind me of Elton's "Candles in the Wind" yet it's very different and uniquely yours. Beautiful Marc. Charlie |

Beautiful post Marc! I love the way this eases into it's structure over the first verse or so - you can hear the legend taking shape through your excellent construction. Really like what you've done here! btw .. After visiting Rouen and Domremy, we felt quite a connection with Jeanne d'Arc, and I wrote this song: http://www.macjams.com/song/15372 . Merci, Neil |

Goodbye King Very good instrumentation, and I especially liked the line: "the axe of the executioner, my cheek on the block, and my head waltzed" Very moving. |

Overwhelming... I am absolutely amazed at the scope of this project, which in my mind (and obviously in the minds of others here) is a complete success on many levels. This is a magnificent work in every way. The instrumentation is very effective and well thought out. Your vocal track is perfect for telling the story, and what a story you've told! To repeat myself - I am amazed. Congratulations on this spectacular piece of music. |

Deliciously dark ballad and story I really love what you have done here. What an inspiring story, with beautiful backing music to carry it on. And you have a wonderful voice, and sang this with the perfect style of emotion, sort of a longing and anger dulled by resignation. And then to translate it to English for a wider audience, that was even more work, and I appreciate that very much. It helped me understand and follow the story. I think your orchestration is perfect and the music is great. I have one minor suggestion, if it is OK. When the music first starts, there are some low synthesizers playing long chords. The sound is very rich and warm, which is good... but they also sound a little too loud, especially in the lower midrange area (maybe around 200 Hz) and perhaps you want to use the equalizer to lower that frequency on that track a little. It makes them sound too "boomy", I think. After about a minute, the volume goes down, and it is not so noticeable... it is only a problem near the beginning. I hope this is helpful. Overall, this is gorgeous! ttfn, Drakonis |

I'm sure- this took you many, many hours of thought and work. It was surely worth it! An epic story that should be remembered. Thank you so much for translating it to English! The backing instruments were excellent, too. so many wonderful things happening here in the music! |

I echo... ...the general thoughts of all who have heard this so far. It is just a stunning orchestration of a powerful lyric. The precise care you have taken with each instrument is evident (though not obvious!)and you created a very rich carpet for this story. Your mix is about as perfect as it could be. (Ah, I agree that the tubular bells are a perfect addition...so poignant.) It's impossible to not be drawn into your work as it is consistently solid and well-thought-out. Very much enjoyed. Peace. This is a remarkable piece of music You have produced soemthing profound and distinctive here. Your voice sounds terrific, as always! The instrumentation is very effective, and I love the arrangement. You do a marvellous job of building the mood through the track, and I love the sounds you use. Those flutes (or pan pipes?) sounds great. A very impressive piece. Kudos, my friend. Nicely done. Peace. |

great job on this period piece these lyrics are fantastic!!! they paint a very vivid picture for us. this a great story worthy enough to be told and set to music. the gravity of this particular song makes me reflect a bit on how shallow and petty some of the themes in popular music can be. " my cheek on the block and my head waltzed" thats just a wonderful line !!! great job blaky !!! |

Marc, your story songs make me cry- so much poetic imagery, set to the perfect music that holds it. Your voice captures the spirit of these two martyrs so that I feel their strength and their love. Most excellent all around!
