Genre doesn't matter to me personally! I think it fits AR though! Sweet song! I like it but in my headphones it sounded pretty much mixed to the middle. I think it would sound great if you pushed the guitar left a little and your vocal slightly right. The drums seem spread ok. That is just my opinion! |

Smooth tune Can't put my finger on it but reminds me of another tune that used to ride the FM airwaves. That's not a bad thing mind you.Like the vocal work and the mouth organ accents. The only issue I have is the stiff drum feel and the off beat drum hits at the end of the verses,"Even if we had it all".All around a nice easy goin' post. Thanks for sharing. Slowhand This reminds me of the songs from Clapton's "Slowhand" album. Your vox and the effect on it sounds very similar to that genre. Very cool. Look forward to listening to your other material. Cheers |

Very nice song I like the lyrics, and i love the vocal on this - a nice, warm sound, filled with expressiveness in a laid-back style. Some nice guitar on there too. I love the sound from the acoustic - very clear and crisp. I second Mark's comment about the panning - a little width in the phones would be nice. I also think the drums are a weak point, a little low in the mix, and there are some discordant snare hits in there to my ears. However, I stress that these are nits I'm picking here. It's a great song and once you have that, you're golden! Glad I stopped by. Nicely done. Peace. |

great Excellent track! Harmonica is such a nice touch. I think your voice has a lot of warmth and if I was forced to nit pick I'd say it had just a bit too much effect applied - it's down to personal taste but a rich voice like yours doesn't need much doing to it. Enjoyed listening to this alot so thanks for posting! Steve |

Hmmmm .... .. nice tune .. I might have notched the VOL some .... maybe thats my late night listening here .. but I always like the volume LOUD .... vocals could have been clarified slightly (as mentioned earlier) cause (and I have the same problem when mixing) ... without the benefit of printed lyrics .... hard to follow .. and I like to read or hear the lyrics ... there was a slight muffling there ... (who am I to speak to this tho .. cause I am the overuse of reverb Queen on MJs) .... but the tune is good ... solid .. and with a little tweak on the VOX could be gold !!!! we need to hear those words !!!! |

Good song I really enjoyed your vocal, and the song really worked for me. Now, as you were asking for some helpful advice ..... Some areas already mentioned which I'd agree with are: that you could probably set up the soundstage better with a little imaginative placement of vocals and guitars; the drum track is definitely a weak point, both in volume in the mix and in some pretty dodgy timing in places - some of those crashes are significantly out. I can't hear a bass track for much of the song - maybe something a little stronger in that department would be a good idea. I really do like this, just think it could be much better. Harmonica playing is just perfect. Cheers from Oz, Neil |

Great song really well put together. At the risk of repeating myself I think this also reminds me of Jethro Tull at about the time they did Minstrel in the Gallery, - it's got to be the voice though the song is also typical of what they were doing around that time. Well done Guy, very enjoyable - one suggestion, - I think it might be a good idea to take a little bit of bass off your voice, but only a little or you'll lose the richness. That's just my own opinion though. John. |

Nice folky song Guy Like what I hear, and you voice is so rich on this. About that, one thing I would do is to use the graphic EQ on the vocal to bring up the 1k and 1.25k frequency maybe 1 or 2db to add a little clarity to the vocal. It's won't affect the richness of you voice but it will make it a little easier to understand the lyrics. Love the harmonic and the rhythm guitar, which are both clean and pristine sounding. Nice song Guy, and again, your vocal is so mellow. Great job Ed |
