I just returned from Simon's Rock where my daughter was interviewing for the AEP merit scholarship - and as I participated in a panel discussion with some students I felt like I was in the X Men movie - hanging out with some super power kids - that's how brightly their intellect shone. They were all 15 - 17 years old. It was a great day - and this is a wonderful end to the day. Can't quite explain how appropriate it seems - but I know how it feels. Thanks. |

Fun! I love the idea of parallel patterns existing between music and nature, whether DNA or long-chain molecules or mathematical patterns. Tool losely used the fibonacci pattern as the rhythmic basis to their Lateralus album to great effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FQdEVd-99o&feature=related I dig the bright, throaty bass against the harp. The soft, vocal-like synth chords are also very effective. The melody has a wandering quality that implies a pattern as it circles particular tones. |
