Description i heard the instrumental version of this on pinkfreud's icomp site. i immediately had vocal ideas running through my head. he agreed to collaborate again, and here's how it turned out. let me know what you think, i'd love to hear your opinion!

age

pinkfreud - all music
age isbell - lyrics and vocals
Lyrics MARCH OF THE INDIFFERENT ver. 2

I've been influenced by the look in your eye
And I have been denied what is rightfully mine
I'd die to uncover just one single sight
That'll tie up all these loose ends and make everything alright

I've come to terms with your wandering eyes
And I've grown so numb to your blasphemous disguise
I'd like to understand what's inside your mind
But I would probably wretch at the sickening sight

I'm afraid if I had a soul
I'd have sold it off so very long ago
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way

I wish that your God gave
A damn about me and what I crave
I wish that your God gave
A damn about me and what I crave

I woke this morning and the sky had gone black
And I saw them circle, inching in for the attack
A cloud of smoke consumed the air where I was at
I pulled my roots from the ground and got up off my back

I'm afraid if I had a soul
I'd have sold it off so very long ago
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way
We're guilty...wouldn't have it any other way

I wish that your God gave
A damn about me and what I crave

Great song but some reason it also frightened me the lyrics
brilliant production though brilliant vocals to. Music perfect.

wish that your God gave
A damn about me and what I crave

thanks dee!
sorry if the lyrics frightened you, they weren't meant to. the lyrics were a mixture of a couple things i wrote long long ago...i was dealing with some feelings of disconnection from my overly religious parents. i masked what i felt about that situation, and some other general bad feelings at the time, with heading the opposite way than they were religiously. i've grown up now, and learned better...and luckily that situation has been smoothed over for a long time now. i was digging through old lyrics and came across these...and well, some of the lines got stuck in my head for days. i head pinkfreud's tune, and they fit...so yah, there it is.

once again, sorry if they frightened you. just something that worked, and was truly genuine at the time they were written. i'm really glad you enjoyed the track though...thank you so much for the comment, i really appreciate it!

sincerely,
age

I know it's not the point of the song but...
...the music and lyrics conjure up "crossroads chat with the devil" kind of imagery. Especially like the way the two blend in the verses.

Cool tune!

Nice concept ..

.. fine sounding bed .. if a little relentless in it's 'march' .. excellent lyrics and vocals ..might bring the "wouldn't have it any other way" up a little in the mix..seemed a little louder 2nd time around .. which was better .. bit buried 1st time around.

I like the line: "I'm afraid if I had a soul, I'd have sold it off so very long ago".

Cool song. Good teamwork.

Cool!
Love the guitar melody. Incredible, evocative and engaging vocals.

But when will people give a damn about what God craves?

Be well friends!

Impressive.
It has hint's of SuperTramp and the Doors, that is a compliment. I love the drive it delivers.

You have great range and pitch in your voice. Very impressive. The lyrics and music fit perfect, like you wrote them together in the same room, at the same time. The mix and production are top-notch. Most impressed.

Fav and downloaded.

Thanks for sharing.
