mojomusic
bill - you make some powerful mojo with your music.

i thought the conclusion was coming at 3/4 thru - cuz except for that beautiful waterfall of guitar at the end, it feels whole and satisfyingly complete to me at that point.

i love the cool downward guitar slithers. drums a plenty! excellent showcase of pounding. this is positively bursting with energy - you are never ever lacking in that department. i like your sound,
anne

Thanks Anne
Just tryin to make myself deaf with joyous noise before I depart this earth. Glad you stopped by.

great track. You are the master of innovation to me. Always different, always a 10 listen

Thanks for the comment
Worked hard on this one and I am glad you liked it.

This is just what the Doctor didn't order
Killer track, in all the ways that can be meant. I think it's safe to say the Announcer has the last word here in this conversation about who's gonna be leaving MacJams City alone forever.
Outstanding track announcer

Ed

I'm not sure about that
Some really creative and innovative songs posted in this challenge. I'm glad you liked my rocker.

bud said 285 days ago
You brought some serious weaponry to the cause
I'd say the good Dr. is gonna be set straight with this barrage. Pretty awesome track you've concocted. I love these challenges - they always bring out the compulsive in the obsessives. We're all here - cause we're not all there.

announcer said 285 days ago
Ya' they are big guns
I figured the loop needed some big guns to put it out of its misery. LOL

Ibstrat said 285 days ago
This
is wicked cool!Real creative stuff here.

announcer said 285 days ago
Thanks, pounder
I think my ears may bleed for a few days more from listening to this about a thousand times while working on it though.

stooey said 285 days ago
Great job.
And I was trapped without my umbrella!

Sadly, my amp is one of those that works in reverse, so I am listening to it at "Infinity and Beyond!"

announcer said 285 days ago
No umbrella?
I'm in worse shape than you, I was trapped without my rubbers!

Thanks for the comments.

Bottoms Up!
Nice mix! I love the phat drums and distorted bass. Slippery guitar work! Yikes... there's loads of percussion programming in here! Really cool grungy-progrock character to this piece. Excellent!

announcer said 284 days ago
Thanks, Brian
Really not that much programming in the drums. Just clicked a whole bunch of new notes randomly into the midi loop and then took out all that didn't sound good! :)

Dj French Toast said 285 days ago
: )
Kool bass line . I really want to destroy this loop forever The Dr . really picked a good one ...I hope it never gets heard again after this challenge . : )

announcer said 284 days ago
Thanks
Some loops are easier to work with than others but it seems there is a place for all kinds of music in the world even if that music is only one measure long.

WillyB said 285 days ago
serious stuff!
i gotta get motivated on arrangement. man, this thing just flowed. Everything is top notch, and the loop seemed like it belonged.

announcer said 284 days ago
What an insult
I should be offended that you said the loop sounds like it fit 'cause I think a lot of people would consider the loop to be so ugly that any song it fit into would be an ugly song.

However, I'll take it as a compliment and thank you for the comment. :)

WillyB said 284 days ago
heh..
definite compliment! that loop is like the ugly old piece of pottery you can't figure out what to do with. Then when some crazy cool designer makes it a focal point in a mansion, it ends up on the cover of a home deco mag :-D

Skean said 285 days ago
Nice mix
You are cool man I really dig your mixing skill... Cheers

announcer said 284 days ago
Thanks
Glad to see your avatar on this song. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

1.21 Gigawatts
tons of energy here!

you must have spent a lot of time on this one - especially the drums!

thanks

announcer said 284 days ago
Gigawatts?
Scared to think of that much power but i kind of figured from your entry in this contest that you could imagine that much wattage.

thanks for the comment and the listen.

said 284 days ago
kool kit, too
You tamed the loop quite well to integrated it in this funky song. The kit is crisp and clean. Nice goin'!

. - Harold

PS: loud worked well.....

announcer said 284 days ago
thanks man
Ya loud will work on this if your system can take the kick drum which I tried to mix with as much thump as I could manage without mangling the whole mix.

magnatone said 284 days ago
WOW
I LOVE THIS!! One of my faves so far in the contest - this just ROCKS!! You're amazin' Mr. Announcer Sir!

announcer said 284 days ago
Thanks for the visit
and for the comment. I tried to make this an all out rock piece with the feel that the band was just rockin out. Glad it worked for you.

Diviner said 284 days ago
Very powerful track
and I like the subtle use of the loop, and it mixes very well. I like the powerful percussion and drums with the guitars over the top of it. I see now why it needs to be turned up to 11 for full effect. Very cool track

announcer said 284 days ago
Subtle use of loop
It strikes me that the use of the loop is about the only subtle thing in this whole track. :) thanks for the visit and the comment.

gregd said 284 days ago
That organ . . .
in the middle. Did you play that? It was deliciously funky. Strangely, the loop fit nicely, but I think it did so only because you had so much else happening. It was just another tile in the mosaic, so to speak.
-g

announcer said 284 days ago
Organ late addition
the organ was actually a late addition to this piece. I had most of the basics down but needed the driving pulses the organ brought to this to really cement the whole thing together. Glad you liked it.

said 284 days ago
Say Goodbye Doc
...what a groovin' piece! Sounds like a bunch of amped-up musicians jamming around and having a riotously good time. Those drums are blasting - but I really loved that organ pumping away too.

And that snakey bass line... did Doc Lioli have any idea he'd inspire this kind of amp-burning, off-the-wall excellentricity? I don't think so!

Smokin!

announcer said 284 days ago
Amped up indeed
I worked hard to make this just the way you described it. Really wanted it to sound like a group just having fun almost like a sound check at a concert venue. Glad that you think it worked the way I intended.

said 284 days ago
Lovely Joyous noise I say!

This sounded excellent. Nice mix loved it all thanks.
Peace Dee.

announcer said 283 days ago
Thanks a lot

Thanks Len
Seems to me you are amassing a regular playlist of announcer tunes. If my hard drive ever crashes, I'll know who to contact for backups. :)

thunder
..and lightning strikes.
heavy as all thunder. rocket propelled drums and a walloping overdriven bass brings it home. man what a wild assortment of takes for this competition. excellent job Bill.

announcer said 283 days ago
thanks vic
'preciate it.

Pete_NB said 282 days ago
Yeah!
Lots of cool stuff going on. The drums are massive and driving. Cool guitar melody. Sounds like keyboard but then you get some almost feedback sounds and the inflection has me fooled. Either way, it sounds great. The bass sounds like it is wandering around looking for someone to beat up!

Great tune!

announcer said 282 days ago
I like your line about the bass
I worked hard to make the midi "guitar" sound as close to a real guitar with a real guitar player playing the feedback as I could. Played with adding harmonics in the sustain, used the modulation settings and tweaked the virtual amp settings to get what I wanted. Glad you liked the result.

bill

peacepiano said 281 days ago
Beat
You are the wizard of the beat. Great mix, and definitely no need for lyrics, your lead melodies say it all.

Thanks
Bill

announcer said 281 days ago
Thanks, Bill
I really appreciate the positive comments. I have a lot of fun making these tunes for my own sanity and I am always pleased that some others enjoy a listen to them as well.

Great stuff
Love that bass (keyboard?) riff and that lovely guitar. Great organ sound playing that rhythmic groove, and shadowed by the loop, sounding suddenly almost cool. Great track - music to move to. Nicely done. Peace.

announcer said 279 days ago
Thank you for the visit and the comment
Glad you liked the parts and the way they went together.

You have earned the right to be cocky!

Go'on w/ yer bad self!

"Hot shit" comes to mind... Stinky w/ heapn' helpn' of some funkn' rawwwk.

announcer said 279 days ago
Can't be too cocky
There are a lot of really fine players and composers here on MJ that can do a whole lot of things better than I, so I shall remain truly humbled by nice comments by folks like you who have visited by pages.

This piece could strut through brick walls
Let that drummer loose - he's an animal. Not to mention the lead guitarist.

Great work here Bill, the Doctor is finito.

Be well,
Doug

Strut thru brick walls
