Description I've been holding off on posting this one up because I wasn't fully satisfied with it. I finally just decided to put it up and get some input.

Awhile back, my friend approached me with an idea. He's a graphic artist graduating in May and is doing a project about plastic surgery and how women deal with it. He wanted me to write a song that reflects his project. So I did some research and found that it's sort of a phase. Women first feel the pressure of society to look better. Then they get hope in the fact that plastic surgery is a solution. If it goes bad they go through a very rough time and then eventually gain hope again when they begin to deal with it.

This song reflects those phases. I'm not really sure if I'm satisfied with this piece yet, but I'd like some input. This a little different for me as I don't do orchestral stuff as much, so any comments there would be greatly appreciated.

I certainly enjoy it! I love the idea and the concept. I've always hated the fact that women do this to themselves!

I'm really linking what I hear, but you have the same problem I have... I have not figured out with some of the strings to make them sound real.

It is in the transitions. The violins (I think) during the first part of the piano don't sound to me like real violins changing notes. I have no clue how to fix it but it one reason I have not used them much in my stuff.

I had the benefit of having a top notch accomplished violinist over for dinner one night a few years ago ane he had his "fiddle" in the car (btw... a classical violinist does not play a fiddle... I was educated in that!)

Anyway to hear him play the notes of a piece I was working on showed me the difference between real violin and keyboard midi violin. It really doesn't compare.

I wish I knew the secret as I've heard other songs here on MJ that achieve that real transition. I just have no idea how to do it myself.

Other than that, I found your piece intricate and very moving! Nice work!

I agree with you, the only strings that sound relatively close the real thing are the low bass ones when you have them in the background. Ah well

If I truly had my way, I'd be using this piece as a guide for actual performers to play the piece; however, I'm not rich-so yea.

Ah well, one day I'll figure out how to make them sound a bit better.

	I Like Great composition. I feel you've very effectively conveyed the intended feelings. Every instrument balances together. Question, though. What was up with that scratchy noise all through the first minute and a half?
