Description Country and er..Northern England really..a bit of a laff.
Lyrics Country Musics playing
On me radio
Its junk yard dogs
and pick up trucks
they rarely sing of snow
I thought I would have a try
But its hard to write
A country song
when your arse is freezing under a Yorkshire winter sky

We dont have a Rio Grand (sic)
No cowboys wit spurs on boots
We dont have cactus plants Coyotes or Buttes
I thought I might have a try etc

As you listen to this song
pleas dont think that I'm
Just another tosspot
having a bloody whine
Theres lots of things here thats grand
and if you want to sing
well then ere sithhee listen daft lad
write the sodding song in spring.

Now we may not have sultry climes
but we have got the Penines
rolling acres of grass green Dales
Wi real pubs selling hand pulled ales
I dont think country song writing
for me will be all that grand
I'm going to sell this old guitar
play triangle in a brass band

Hard to write
I thought the song concept itself was clever and, lyrically, there is a good bit of humor here. Needs to come in at maybe 2:30 or so and the singing and production elements could use an overhaul (imho). I do like the concept, though.

Production
production is my downfall,I think I get too impatient and want to post what I think is a good idea and I'm just bursting to get it out there....which is a shame I s'pose......BTW what do you mean by ''it needs to come in at 2:30 or so ''curiosity piqued!!!

2:30
Jarvo,

I was merely suggesting that a "novelty" country song (i.e. a song that relies heavily on humor as it's "hook") would typically not run more than 2:30 or 2:45 in length.

I say this coming from a Nashville radio airplay perspective. I always measure my songs against that standard and tend to do the same with other country songs I listen to and/or critique.

Bear in mind, this is only my opinion, so take it for what it's worth! : )

Oh,righty..
No problem wi' that I just couldn't work it out...I thought surely he doesn't mean it should be played at 2.30 int morning....it's not that bad fair play I think it has got something and may benefit from being a bit shorter.I'll give it a go...always open to suggestion. Thanx.....

I do tuned my mandolin like yours

Jarvoid said 245 days ago
Uke tuning...
the strings on a uke are arranged with two thin strings on the outside and two thick one's in the middle.they aren't like a regular heavy to thin arrangement as most stringed instruments are..
