Keywords The greatest pioneer love story ever told through her diary (1)
Description After an incredibly long journey, a wagon train finally makes it to the west. Amanda and John meet for the first time, though they knew of each other during their rough journey.

They didn't realize they could be so in love, or should I say, love could be so; strong! They became inseparable throughout their lives. Amanda alone looks back during her final earth days, she writes of what seems to be the greatest love story the untamed western frontier truly has ever known !

In her heart dwells this romantic melody as she clutches her priceless neckless John gave her what seems so very long ago of the token of his undying love for her. . .

**********************
A special thanks to Macjam's Andrew Koplan for playing the bass on this piece !

Hey Tiler
You have three things I can't resist here. A story of devotion, a great melody and a slide over minor chords. I truly like this. Some emotional and majestic chord changes really top this song off.

Excellent Mr Tiler

What I like here, Bill...
...is that the slide playing is actually playing a melody line, and a melody line that someone could sing... It's not just that repeated da-da-da-da sort of slide playing... It's very clear and clean and melodic... Reminds me a bit of Jerry Douglas...

The string backings work well enough for me when they are in the background... but the treat in your recordings is always the guitar playing... I lean against giving the strings too much time up front...

I'd be inclined to bring Drew up a bit... I think that bass playing is a perfect complement to your acoustic playing...

yea my friend. take me back to my early 20's when I did a hell of traveling cross country and abroad. Damn... I wish I was doing that as much as I used too. real nice piece

dajama said 251 days ago
Ah, this is beautiful
The guitar evokes a mood that harks back to the story that cries out for a music - and here it is. I love the slide and the picked guitar. The bass is nice, and adds a nice dynamic. Strings work well, I think. This is a great piece. Lovely melody, beautifully performed. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

the feelings of the story, so well. I can picture it in my mind. Very lovely piece, Bill. :-)

Beautiful piece...
I enjoy listening to acoustic guitar a lot and only wish I would have learned it when I was young.

Wagons roll
This is an inspiration. A master class in arrangement, production, technical mastery of the guitar and musicianship. I'm off to buy a slide at lunch time because I must try to get this sound (it may take a while......).

Thanks
SJB, glad I inspired you to by a slide!

I do think that the slide has an ability to add classical-melodic influences and is the most easy listening I think I have done with the slide.
