What to say? This is a beautiful sentiment Gail.My heart brakes when I hear the enemy of our souls has claimed another victory. You are so right when you say we only have today.Sad so few come to realize it is only because God gave it to us that we do in fact have it.God help us and heal us! Oh such a beautiful song Gail as only you could do it. The sentiment is so very true. None of us are promised tomorrow, we only have now to tell the ones we love. Your daughters friend, and all of you and them are in our prayers. May peace settle onto you and them. God Bless Ed |

very very moving I guess I'm stating the obvious, but this is a very special song. Not much else can be said about the song and your wonderful performance of it. Technically, and it makes me feel sort of curmudgeonly to say it, I would have preferred a bit more volume on the vocals, since they sort of were hiding behind the wonderful piano playing. Other than that, this is marvelous. You sing so well! |

Gail, Just beautiful: your singing, the piano and arrangement, the composition, the lyrics. When a song comes so much from the heart as yours does, it cannot fail to touch all who hear it. That's the power of music...and the power of love. I am so glad you shared both here. Peace. Paul |

A powerful reminder... .. and fantastic playing and moving vocals. Your delicate touch on the keys is always just wonderful to listen to Gail and extremely apt in this context. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this difficult and painful time. .. a sadly often painfully forgotten piece of advise .. that hits hard when someone dear to us is no longer with us, leaving those close often with extremely difficult feelings of regret or guilt... wether justified or not. Again, my deepest sympathies and condolences, very sad to hear such news. /Alan |

Oh, Gail... How this got to me! My daughter tells me about her friends; some keep saying they want to die, some cut themselves, some openly hate their parents and want to kill them. It's an epidemic among the youth; this obsession with death and dying. Thank you for posting this reminder to love, to really listen, and to communicate with our teenagers. It really touched my heart. |

Dear Gail it is a terribly, terribly sad song but unbelievably wonderful at the same time. The melody is simply stunning, giving me such goose bumps and the vocals... oh girl, they couldn't be more wonderful. I am really touched by truly everything. What a song, what a story, what emotions... |

Beauty in the heart of sadness Gail this is sung with such authenticity and depth of feeling, and the lyrics are moving in ways that last well beyond the last tones of the song fading away. Gorgeous! And it's nice to hear your lovely voice. Peace to you and your daughter. Doug |

I know loss not in this manner but as a parent I can speak first hand about the loss of a child... there just isn't a worse pain you can experience. That said, your song contains what I think is very possibly the most important message... how important it is to embrace life and our loved ones at every opportunity. Beautifully done, Gail. Beautifully done. |

I wish ...... ... we could impart the most important message of all to young people ... that things change .... times pass .... for those of us who have lived long past those angst ridden teenage years to grow up ... get married .. have children .... meet many many many diverse people, etc. etc. we recognize how fast and rapid our lives change ... some good stuff ... some bad stuff ... some bumpy roads ... but MAN what a ride ... and for those who get off before it has left the tracks they miss out on one heck of a time! Lovely heartfelt song Gail to express such a sad event. |

a painful song with a message... Gail, this song gave me goosebumps, and I rarely say that about songs. Maybe because the message strikes close to home. My sister's best friend commited suicide at the age of 18, too, and it was something that we never saw coming. She was affable, amiable, at least normal-appearing on the outside. We never knew that there was a lot of sadness and suffering in the inside, and she did not find the way to vent her feelins and find help, not even from her best friend. Depression is a disease the steals the soul and sanity, and we need to recognize that in people who suffer from it, to affirm our love and encourage them to live. You sang it with such a passion and with such a strong message, and I am sure everyone who has heard or experienced the sorrow of death from someone's suicide will feel this song strum the deep cords of his heart. |

Poignant It is shocking that most people know of someone has felt the need to take their own lives for whatever reason. I think you've summed up what these tragic people might have needed in your hauntingly beautiful song. |

Emotional rescue It shows the strength of mind you possess to translate such a sad event into such a poignant ballad. Music as a healing agent cannot be underestimated. I'm glad you decided to share. Thank you too for reminding me what it's all about. Peace. Jim |

This is terrific I know sometimes you can't always hold them, but as much love as you can give them sure helps and if your lucky enough to hold them that is a real plus. Enjoyed the tune, I am amazed how you really have that Roberta Flack style though certainly of course your own but you have a high quality vocal sound. Plus it sure doesn't hurt to have a great song like this as well. Way to Go! |

This is still very touching even 7 months later! A favorite that I had to go and listen to again! |

Dearest Gail... a year ago we bought flowers for my daughter to lay at a bridge underpass near her high school, where a friend of hers was accidentally killed while walking back to school at lunch, by another student driving back to the same school. It touched all of us. These sudden tragedies hit us parents really hard, and it is so difficult to adequately explain to our children how much they mean to us. Thank you for sharing this important message... and playing/writing/singing it so beautifully, as you always do. You mean a great deal to your family too, remember that... and of course, you mean a lot to a friend over here too :-)
ttfn,
Eduard
