Description A general 0bservation about life - " pop stars, film stars, cars all look the same." - written and recorded in October 2004.

I heard the expression,- starved of technicolour - in a film from 1946 called , A Matter of Life and Death, where all the heaven scenes were in shot in black and white, and one of the angels remarked - "ah, one is starved of technicolour" I just thought the phrase would make a good song.
Lyrics starved of technicolour by woofer3

starved of technicolour.[written October 2004]

1 greyscale television everyday ,
life goes on and on.
pop stars, film stars, cars all look the same ,

2 you can't get away from it it's all around,
there's no place left you can hide ,
mobile telephones pollute the air each day.

chorus. and we're starved of technicolour ,
starved of light and it ain't no joke .
inside outside everywhere that you go .
everything's computerised ,everything's cool,
what are they trying to do.

3 celebrity upstarts that nobody knows,
you get more and more each day ,
thinking they're cool but I'm telling you now no way .

4 american influence is coming to town,
spreading it's oppression around,
laying down the groundrules & everyone goes along.

repeat chorus

Another great
and catchy song John - absolutely love the ultra catchy chorus. Lovely vocals with excellent harmonies. That film was a favourite of mine.
Cheers
Len

Very good idea for
a song and things are (in my opinion) mostly still nicer in b&w...think u made a very nice uplifted feeling song here...good vox and generally a nostalgic feel here..great.

I can remember-
being able to tell the difference between a Ford and an Austin and so on, well you know what I mean. I remember when all the cars back in the fifties had their own expressions, yes and I love black and white as well.

Thank you Eagle.

Another Hit!
Woofer you are so good. Another gem of a song from Wales.

Another favorite for me.

woofer3 said 282 days ago
I'm pleased that you like it
All inspired by a line in a film, - just like Buddy Holly's -That'll be the Day.

Thank you Tim.

Nomination
I nominate Woofer for MacJammer of the Year. Who else here has ever written a better chorus than the one in this song?

J.A.Stewart said 282 days ago
Somewhat Reminiscent of...
the sharp social criticism and wit of Ray Davies and The Kinks... one of my all-time favorites.

Catchy... and relevant, to boot. Soon the whole world will be homogenized to the point of grand bland.

Nicely done, John. ;)

to Tim and J.A.
thank you both, I am to say the least overwhelmed by your words. Sorry I'm a bit late with my response but I've only just seen your comments.
