The Dream
I love the artwork, it goes very well with your wonderful playing, full of fantasy. An own mikrokosmos drifting through the space. One can get lost in your music, awesome!!

Bill
Just discovered you on MJs! This is great - a real absorbing listen with lots of interesting things and imaginative changes going on. All recorded and mixed perfectly.
Cheers.

jiguma said 268 days ago
I still don't know ..
.. how you keep coming up with these Bill. You turn out new songs weekly that most of us would have to practice for 12 months to perfect.

You know I still prefer your straight, unadorned playing, but this is really nicely done.

Have you thought about doing a less classical, more "band" sort of version of some of these? This one would sound great with someone like Scott Carmichael playing some mandolin, or Jim Bouchard on lap steel, and a bit of a rhythm section Just a thought.

Lovely playing as usual Bill - I'm continua;lly impressed!

I guess
I get addicted to Logic 8's orchestral capabilities. It has so much to offer musicians. I love how easy it is to work with the jam packs, the way the automation works and how you can secularize sections of track and give them separate effect.

One of the sad things I think happened in the 50's. Is that really beautiful orchestral music was on the radio constantly. Such as Percy Faith's Them From A Summer's Place, Mantovani, great instrumentals such as Moulin Rouge Theme. I just read an article on how they basically disappeared, especially after the 50 etc.

But I still love the band sound, but I just can't shake my parents influence I guess. My dad was in a big band orchestra and my mom loved the Bolero and they both loved Mantovani.

Excellent
Beautiful and the guitar is wonderfully played and interesting.

Kenta_and_Linda_Rocks_together said 267 days ago
I agree
I have always dreams and almost the come true.
One of my biggest dream I ever had was to get married with my lovely wife... I found her here when I seek after some free loops and I did a song seek after a singer and there she was... The rest is a big dream who come true. Thanks for this lovely song my friend.

Take care

You brings dreams to light
Hearing guys/gals like you MJ helps usvisualize dreams and this song is no exception, reminds of the sixties this does then switch into flamenco flavored moment, nice transition, Thanks again Bill!

Moviz said 267 days ago
Your
Abilities with regards to the guitar, go without saying, but you've really added another string to your.... (guitar?) LOL with your clever subtle orchestrations. Sounds wonderful as always Bill and I love your picture... very dreamlike/ surreal, regards M

Guitar plus
Wow, Bill, you never cease to amaze me. This is like Betsy in a collab with the symphony orchestra. Very fanciful and beautiful.

Wow
It's amazing to see someone exhibit such quality of song and melody while at the same time being so consistent and prolific.

You make me want to hug my acoustic everytime I hear one of your songs!

rsorensen said 265 days ago
beauty
this really cooks. you always manage to wrangle a great tone for your acoustic. not easy to do, i know. pickup or mic? i'm guessing the later.

Bill...
Nice composition, Tiler. A mosaic of colors. A dream more hueful than rueful.

Critical comments: Some things are out of tune...sometimes I hear the bass out of tune, sometimes the synths don't quite mesh with the guitars. Also, there are a few timing issues (the bass and some "late entry" synths). I don't like the tone of the slap bass. Make it rounder.

But the overall effect is pleasing. Nice chord progressions. Could be a movie soundtrack.

I'm curious about your keyword phrase "Playing in front of audiences". Did you play this live with some of the background music pre-recorded?

thetiler said 264 days ago
no
but just about a half an hour ago I played real close to a bunch of people at a local music store and I told them about MJ! :)

Thanks Rich for your input
