Description Shoot the viceroy
by woofer3

A song to immortalise lord linlithgow, whose only purpose for existing seemed to be for killing animals and turning perfectly good food into shyte.-

i wrote and recorded this in September 2002. Oh and the story took place in India in the late thirties. It needs arranging a little better, -a chorus between v2 and v3 maybe. This is a demo really I suppose. - I'm going to re do this one. Still this is it for now.
Lyrics Shoot the viceroy by woofer3

Shoot the viceroy [sept.2002]

1. India in thirty eight lord linlithgow is in the chair,
Ruling viceroy linlithgow, the number one with time to spare,
Time to spare how will he use it,shooting killing i suppose,
Time to spare will he abuse it,thats the way it mostly goes.

2 Organize a tiger shoot his lordship said one sunny day,
A man of daring there's no doubt he'll make the british empire pay,
Shoot the tiger-why?we asked, cos he's alive the viceroy said,
But he's so healthy mr.viceroy why on earth d'you want him dead.

3 In just ten weeks he'd killed two hundred, some were rhinos some were bears,
Some were leopards, some were tigers ask his lordship if he cares,
How about we change the odds and hunt the viceroy for a change,
Make him know just what it feels like, track him down till he's in range.

chrs. Shoot the viceroy watch him run, tell him that it's only fun,
Ask the viceroy when he's caught if he thinks it's still a sport.

4 Lord linlithgow we know you're happy, shooting slaying all day long,
Lord linlithgow we'd like to ask you, have you ever thought it wrong,
The tiger's always on his own, there's lots of you it dont seem fair,
If it was you and him for once, lord linlithgow you wouldn't dare.

repeat chorus

Another great
and quirky song. Really love this John, and the production is so much better on this one. Couldn't help thinking that it could end with a very posh sounding 'ouch'. Your vocals are sounding excellent and the music fits perfectly. Where do you get your ideas from? They are certainly different and refreshing.
Cheers
Len

My ideas -
often come from things that p*ss me off, of which there are plenty. I am never short of subject matter and find it difficult keeping up with my own writing for most of the time. This tosspot was an ideal target as he was killing animals just for the sake of it. There just had to be a song Len. I'm glad you like it. Thank you for your comments.

This is so theatrical
it makes me think of a play in the style of Ionesco. Lots of fun, humour, and wit to this. Love it!

Bungalow Bill was a Viceroy!
Another great one, woofer. I love your use of history as song material.

I would agree that another chorus would be good because between 2 and 3. Thanks for posting.

woofer3 said 304 days ago
yes it looks that way-
I love some of those little pieces on the White Album. Thank you Tim for your comments. I wrote this after watching a tv documentry on this human stool. I'm one of those people who happen to think animals have it rough enough without the help of port brained twerps like linlithgow promoting their mindless activities.

How's Jiffytown this morning ?

Love it!
Perfect backing music. Nostalgic and kitchy. Has a great authenticity about it.
