Gail I'm a bigger fan than ever since you've been singing. I just love your voice... and then to be able to play piano like that is wonderful. Added to that, is that you can write lyrics and melodies like these as well. What a great song and yes.... we have been there. Did I say this was beautifully sung???, regards M |

Nice song I would love to hear the cellos bigger and bolder and maybe a different more flattering reverb on your lovely voice Thanks to Drakonis for plugging it in the chat room... |

Yikes! Talk about a HeartSong of a different kind... gorgeous song and playing as usual (what is it you always say to Paul Page... "I'm waiting for you to write a BAD one")... lyrics are poignant and with this slow pacing, really draws out the sorrow, and the heaviness of trying to pick up and move on. Glad to hear this is not a recent memory to draw from! Excellent singing, though the recording of voice is ever-so-slightly muffled, but not too bad, I can still hear your words clearly. Boy, now I have to go huddle in the corner and cry for a minute. ttfn, Drakonis |

Wow! Beautiful! Thanks for the mood! No really! While we've all been there I'd rather not go back but in this song you make it pleasurable. As posted above please keep singing! You have a beautiful voice! Piano is great too! No not great but wonderful! |

Sad song... ...nicely folded into d minor. Great piano playing, Gail. It supports you perfectly. I echo the comment above about the reverb on your voice, wishing YOU were a little more FORWARD in the mix. I had trouble understanding the lyrics (maybe because I am losing my hearing!) and wished that I could read them. But the composition itself and your particular styling of the performance are a real pleasure to hear. ... And now you are compelling me to post a sad number myself. Maybe this is the aftermath of the Valentine's love songs. Peace. Paul |

Sad, but not :-) Gail, this is such a good song! The piano and your voice sound great together, and it has hope in it, even though the lady has had her heart broken. She's a survivor and will triumph again. So pretty...:-) |

Nice one Gail! Now that you're out of the vocal closet it's time to turn up the volume on your voice, and maybe cut the reverb so that your voice is up front and clear, where it should be. Your voice is sounding really good, so why hide behind the piano player - well, figuratively speaking of course :) Good song, reminiscent of Carole King - and she did OK. Cheers, Neil |

you again Didn't you just post a new song yesterday? It sure seems like it. Those creative juices are really flowing now, huh. I enjoyed this song quite a bit. I'm glad you went darker with this one. I should introduce you to my dark master. You'll like him. Seriously though, great job. btw - How do you find time to write and perform great new songs on a regular basis and reply to everyone's comments. Don't you have a job? |

Call me a new fan, the depth of the writing and performance is great. Your vocal range really handles this like a power ballad - it perhaps could be a little more clear and upfront, though the vocal effect could be what you intended as well. |

Don't Tell Me You're Sorry This is WONDERFUL. I really admire your piano skills, and the fact that you can do THAT, plus write AND sing beautiful lyrics. (I'm a total one-trick pony!) As others have commented, I wish your voice was a little more up front - your voice is so awesome. Thanks |

Piano This is a wonderful song and you sing it beautifully, but the part I like best is you superb piano playing. You add dynamics and accents in just the right places and smoothly play through all moving lines. Thanks Bill |

Very Nice I really like this song. But I do wish your voice was more forward in the mix. I would really like to hear less reverb as well. You have a very nice voice and I kind of loose it in all the verb. I think the piano supports your voice really well, and I really like the changes. |

Sometimes... When you least expect it inexperience can add to the over all feel of a piece. This is beautiful and should be left as is. It has a feel and color (production wise) that actually adds to the over all appeal of the piece. I love this song and the way it sounds and makes me feel when I hear it. It has a Cowboy Junkies feel to it. I am referring to their second album recorded with one mic in the Holy Trinity church in Toronto. Gail this is an outstanding piece of art. Having no preconceived ideas about how to record is sometimes a blessing and this song proves that. |
