Description Alan (NorthPoint) is a great songwriter. He sent me another one to arrange and perform then he gave it his usual rock solid pocket bass guitar and soulful backing vocals.

We wanted the mix to be big and I think we got there, what do you think?

BossHook: Lead vocals, acoustic guitars, electric lead and rhythm guitars, Hammond B3 organ, percussion, drums.

NorthPoint: Words and Music, backing vocals, bass guitar.
Lyrics Fallen Angel

Intro: F C G C 2x

C G C
Lost my direction, Lost my way
Stumbled down the wrong path, to yesterday
D C
Like a red sun setting, a curtain falling on my life
D F G
Darker and darker, but then I found the light

Chorus
C G C
I see a shining star, to guide my way
C G C
I’m getting stronger, day by day
D C
I fell from grace, I fell to my knees
F C G C F C G C
I'm a Fallen Ang-e-e-l with one wing free.

C G C
Gotta live a hard life to sing the blues
C G C
Gotta walk a lonely road with nothing to lose
D C
The times keep changing, there’s fire in my soul
D F G
Lady luck is smiling and there's one way home

Chorus

Solo Over bridge F – G 6x

C G C
Chased a rainbow down a lonesome road
C G C
Lived a hundred lives, and carried a heavy load
D C
I've done my time, got no relief
D F G
On a downward spiral, but then I spread my wings

C G C
I see a shining star, to guide my way
C G C
I’m getting stronger, day by day
D C
I fell from grace, I fell to my knees
F C G C F C G C
I'm a Fallen Ang-e-e-l with one wing free.

Blues Angels
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Always a pleasure and an honor to work with Johnny Bosshook LaMantia. He did a wonderful job bringing this tune to life. I look forward to many more collaborations with the Boss.

The song is based on a wonderful story I heard about a great local Portland, Oregon musician. His name is David Vest, you can see his website at http://www.rebelangel.com He has played with all the greats in the NW and worldwide, an amazing keyboardist and blues musician. When he was playing at the Waterfront Blues Festival one year in Oregon, a local TV station did an interview with him and he told a great story about a Fallin' Angel... with one wing free. Well, you can see where the story went from there, and hope you enjoy this tune, inspired by David Vest and all he has done for the Northwest Blues scene. Thanks for listening, and Long live the Blues!!

-- Alan

This has that Young Rascals sound
Solid rock & roll. Love the whole thing, but what takes it over the top for me was the organ in the background. That's the kind of sound the Rascals had.

Very cool song and production was excellent. Nice collab guys.
