	I wonder if... ...Beethoven is "rolling over" in his grave, John. You once again work your wonderful magic with the jazz piano and chording. I never thought I would enjoy Fur Elise again, but you brought new life to it in your inimitable way. Just supurb. (The Akoustik really works well on this number. Very crisp. 	I love this treatment- I always listen to your music expecting that humorous/inspired twist, but I'm always pleasantly surprised when it enters. I love those first three jazz chords in this. (and the rest of the song, too.) Great stuff!

	You piano players make me mad with your close voiced chords.I wish I could do that on guitar! This is just great.I've heard Fur Elise so many times- I dislike it almost as much as Pachelbel canon.But your version is terrific!

Ludwig likes it. Me too. Very nice, very tasteful, as always. I am pretty sure that Ludwig likes it -- yup, just double-checked; he does! I was wondering if you might cut loose, stretch out a bit, as you kept it going, but it doesn't do that so much, which of course is perfectly good too! But, just for the record, I'd love to hear a version of this in which something along these lines happened (i.e., start very controlled, 'inside the box,' then progressively stretch out until it gradually becomes more 'raw', or whatever the term might be for when an artist cuts loose). But be that is it may, this is wonderfully done, and I love it!

Very Nice... I really like the alt voicings. Very nice. I see that you are using Akoustik Piano on the last couple of tracks - did this replace Ivory? I got Akoustik a while back and I have never warmed up to it - it always seems a little too bright and tinny for me. I have started using it again and have found a preset that I like, but overall, I was disappointed with it. How are you finding it? Thanks for Sharing - Kayle

Thanks, Kyle Thanks, Kyle. Yes, I am using Akoustik regularly now, and have not used Ivory in about a year. I saw a review of it in Mix Magazine, and they really liked the Steinway setting, but the other settings were not so good, they said. And they were right, I think. The Steingraber, the Bosendorfer, are not that great. Not even just for variety. But I really do like the Steinway, and I like the fact that the reverb is built-in to the program (unlike Ivory), and that Akoustik has its own built-in equalizer. And Akoustik puts far less of a strain on my computer than Ivory -- Ivory always had stutters and dropouts -- it was rare that I could listen to a playback without some kind of performance issue. But with Akoustic -- that rarely happens. I think Akoustik is a combination of physical modeling and old-fashioned sampling, which may explain why it's less taxing on my computer. The whole thing installs on only 4 DVDs, as opposed to ten for Ivory. I have been very happy with it. I recorded most of my latest CD with Akoustik. Thanks for stopping by, Kyle.

	One more thing One more thing -- Akoustik does not work right now with Leopard. I upgraded to Leopard on my desktop Mac before I checked whether or not it would work (why would it not work?). So my Macbook is still running Tiger, so for the moment, if I want to use Akoustik, I have to use the Macbook. The people at Native Instruments tell me that a fix is in the works, but no date yet.

	Akoustik Works Now! Hi John - I have found one or two presets that I really like. But there is an update available now that works with Leopard. It took me a little while to find it, but it is there. Version 1.1.3 works with 10.5

It Does? Kayle, that's good news, but I still see this message on the NI web site: "This page provides information about Native Instruments products and Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard". The content will be updated and expanded over time to address additional questions and reflect further developments. This page has last been updated on January 30th, 2008. "Native Instruments welcomes the improvements in Mac OS X 10.5, but does currently not recommend upgrading to the new operating system version for professional audio production or live performance until compatibility with existing third-party audio software has been widely confirmed by other manufacturers." 	listening again I am blown away when I see your scores john. Your scores should be much higher. You are truly one of the best musician-composers here on this site. I think it is unfair that your scores are so low and they should be up there with the best. You are so very talented at that piano! Really fun jazz, so well done with that happy flavor that is so precious!
