I think this actually sounds way better than you think it does. You have a very cool groove here and the guitar work is perfect. That Alison Kauss cd with Plant is really good-I know what you mean about that band{I think those are the same people that play with Tom Waits?)they can take 1 or 2 chords and make an amazing sort of minimalist creation.Anyway you have done a similar thing here. It's hard to play simple! |

Too hard on yourself! This sounds dark and bluesy- great guitar and nice pounding drums. The only quibble is that i think the chorus/refrain needs something with a little more oomph, maybe some backing harmonies. A great hypnotic track - really enjoyed this, and lyrically this is awesome |

I like the way you hit the groove from the opening beat and sustain it all the way through. Echoes Raising Sand but also Dylan's Time Out of Mind. I think you excel at this kind of laid back lyrical guitar work. You let it go here and there but never get outside "the pocket" as you call it. As always, great reading and phrasing of the poem, particularly the end lines and specifically "new fallen snow darkness." The more I listen, the more I like it. |

heavy I see no problem here at all. Great heavy boot stomping beat. Guitars cool and slung low below the waist. I perceived to vocal delivery as more as a narrative from a man who carries the weight of the dreary world on his shoulders. |

Bar Room Sounds like a Bar Room Hymn. Great atmosphere, don't over-polish, you may start rubbing off the best parts, this sounds really good now. Thanks Bill |

Lou Reed vs Johnny Cash That's what I hear in this really dark and droning blues number. Great song bud and will. Sorry I haven't been around to comment lately, but trust me, I enjoy your music and I try to catch up on downloads regularly. Take care, Bob |

Wow !!!! Just listened the AK/RP CD a few weeks ago, really loved it. I'm back here since yesterday, I've listen some of your comps I've missed (been away for so long), a real pleasure to find you back here. Since the first chord, I knew this was going to be great. Really excellent, love the pace, your nonchalant voice and the Danelectro vibe. One the best rock songs I've heard here since I'm around ! Chapeau, mec ! |

If you were trying to create a groove with a great live feel you succeeded beautifully. I really like this bud - has a similar feel to your Baghdad Blues which I really love. Downloaded for hundreds of listens to come. Cheers Len |

Has that Johnny Cash sound to it. Really absurd rhythm that is like Johnny meets Page kind of way... Cool tune full of some tasty bluesy guitar bits. |

man bud this is great. what a beat. this is perfect, i know that some folks are probably thinking this needs to "go somewhere" but knowing your taste (and mine) you really did this one perfectly. like the basically spoken words and the repetition. this is pretty friggin deep man. don't add backups. kind of reminds me of beck in a way. |

Great vibe off this The lyrics, I think, are excellent - that's a terrific poem, kudos to Will - and the music suits them nicely, I think. In a strange way, the instrumentation and almost hypnotic groove gives the lyrics a darker edge, and it works. Some lovely guitar licks thrown in there, and very good vocal performance - world-weary, maybe? I like this a lot. NIcely done. Peace. |

Crap, you hit the ball out of the state on this one!!! Yikes! |

...having some difficulty hearing the lyrics above the accompaniment. I'm not too much into being picky, but my tastes draw me more toward the development of a tune in any song with lyrics especially...When you change chords to II-IV-I there is some nice energy, but there is a lot of the same I chord as the lyrics go by. Well, I guess I'd just like to see the song "go" somewhere melodically.
Always a pleasure, though, to hear your carefully crafted work.
Peace.
Paul
