Description A song about Dejah Thoris, the Queen of Mars.
But it's also a song about Deety Burroughs from 'The Number of The beast' by Robert Heinlein.
Yeah, that's right, I used to read Heinlein as a teen. :)

I did all the music and instruments except the drums which are loops.
Pharmakeus wrote the words many years ago.

Oh Yes
This is one of your best. Great pop sound with intelligent music and lyrics.

artneuro said 319 days ago
Thanks!
It's the kind of guitar pop that seemed ubiquitous when i was growing up but it's surprisingly hard to duplicate and harder to find more thereof. So thank you for your kind words.

Dejah Thoris
I agree, one of your best. A brilliant song, deep and creative arrangement. Enjoyed it :-)

artneuro said 319 days ago
Thanks man
Very glad to have you seal of approval!

Bob6stringer said 320 days ago
Nostalgic, excellent.
Effing great, man. There's just-right space between the music tracks, and a perfectly audible level for your vocal... gives me nostalgia for the days when pop equaled rock, from the Kinks to the Clash. Love your lrics, vox and tasteful lead guitar runs. You're the best.

Thanks!
Pharmakeus and I used to play this in a band before we ran into Chella. Of course Chella kind of changed the outlook of how and what we did, so this song went into the drawers, but more recently I figured it was wroth having a little crack at. It'ss interesting how songs can mature in your drawer.

Pharmakeus
He's doing much better. I even think he's starting to record some stuff again, but he's also busy in his real life so it might still be a while before he's fully back.
Anyway, he sends his regards to all.

Oh, thanks for your kind comments on this song too!

Always Happy
...to run into in any part of the world, real and virtual. Hope you're doing well Yoh. IComp should be back to full strength soon.

I'm not afraid
of Art Neuro, in fact I'm just happy he's around ;) Your vocal melody lines are always so carefully and attractively designed, and this one is in particular, imo. Yes, I also remember that guitar sound very well, and I wouldn't certainly say you're that far from it!
Finally, I'm so happy to see the great work of a good friend like Pharmakeus is still around one way or another, now that he's taking a break...

artneuro said 316 days ago
You're so kind!
This kind of music was so much fun when we were kids.
Yeah pharmakeus is doing much better. I think he got a little worn out by being on iComp so much. He's expecting a July or so return date.

MIRx said 316 days ago
I know, my friend,
but he might be back sooner than that in IC as a very special guest to some other chap's song... ;)

artneuro said 314 days ago
Maybe
I don't know if he's really working that hard on music this minute. :)

MIRx said 314 days ago
But he's been, recently,
I can tell that for sure (can't say whether 'twas hard or not, though!) ;) You just check MIR's uploads as soon as IC music section is back, and you'll know what I mean :) :)

Sprouting Like Mushrooms
Another amazing rockin' song!

You have some magical stuff going on in your studio. I haven't quite figured you out yet, but I am a fan!

Thanks for another download.
