Description Another stripped-down recorded live acoustic thing. Please forgive the sloppy guitar playing on this. I didn't have a click going and I wasn't confident enough with the main riff yet. However, I do plan on revisiting this one and adding some slide work to the breaks. Just wanted to post it to get some feedback before I do.

Sounds good
I get the feeling that little lick you stick in there could be a lot longer, so you can really enjoy it. It seems like it goes by so fast. You could put in an unexpected pause in the intro, with that expanded lick. But I like it overall, the vocals especially.

rsorensen said 289 days ago
thanks
for the input. maybe i'll try that when i revisit this one.

this is a very good song
why, i wonder, do you not use GB?
there is so much you could do to give it a really live, coffeehouse feel. i mean, it does not really need it, but it would really fatten the rough spots up.

gb
thanks allen. i recorded this before i started using garageband. im going to redo it in GB though and as you say 'fatten' everything up with better production and some slide work. just wanted to post it to get some feedback on the song itself. thanks for checking it out!

Muy Bueno
Hey dude, I dig the vocals . nice job. catchy chorus too.. I'd definitely like to hear this song rerecorded with the riff cleaned up. Overall like the song and now its stuck in my head. Lotsa potential with that song

This is such
a well written and catchy song that it will work with any production.
Cheers
Len

thanks len
I always really appreciate your comments. thanks for listening

Yeah
Definitely has potential. This could almost build up slowly into a full (not too heavy) band at the end, but thats just the way I hear everything. Slide would be cool when you add that. I have to keep an eye out for the update.
Voice sounds great as always.

rsorensen said 287 days ago
cool
thanks nick. intereseting idea. i'll keep it in mind while re-recording. it does seem to be taking on a more bluesy edgier feel in GB already...
thanks for your input!

like the
voice and the chugga, chugga of the guitar. Nice tonality of the acoustical guitar. Plus good textured vocal singing.

Thanks for sharing!

rsorensen said 287 days ago
:)
thank you for checking it out and commenting. The chugging guitar is going to be more upfront next version.

rsorensen said 287 days ago

Yeah this was totally influenced by 'Please Me Like You Want To'. Good call! I love Ben Harper.

OK am I drunk?
... Is something weird happening with my computer ... but this song is being played at WARP speed ... (Which I am wondering if it is a Macjams thing) ... or was it recorded that way .... the vocal sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks ... and since no one commented on the speed I am thinking that it is playing superbly fast or something ..... glitch? or did you intentinally pitch it really really fast? I'm almost hesitating leaving this comment .... OKAY ... hahaha you might wanna check this out ... but I played it again with the OTHER player ... and WOW .. yes MUCH better ... slowed down ... no Alvin-ness there (I am safe to keep drinking now)! Is it me? or is it a bad MJ upload issue? by the way ... LUV the TUNE .... I would like to sing it ....

rsorensen said 277 days ago
hmmmm
doesnt play fast for me on either player... maybe it was the beverages you were consuming? haha
Anyway thanks for listening. I'm redoing this one right now and if you like I can shoot you over a version without my vocals when it's done if you wanna sing something over it. The new one's a lot more bluesy so far, but the vocal melody's the same.

Chipmunks in the works
Hi, I'm listening to this in the UK and Alannah is right it's really speeded up on the one player - it%u2019s all finished by 2 minutes 39 seconds (a minute quicker than it should)! The chipmunk effect is very amusing but it all sounds a lot better at the right speed on the Quicktime player. You mention above that you%u2019ll record a fatter version with some slide on - I%u2019ll definitely stop by again for a listen to that. Good song!

SJB said 275 days ago
%u2019
"%u2019" is suposed to be an apostrophe.

thanks
yeah you know i've had this issue before and i think it has to do with a low bit-rate i recorded this at. why it doesnt play 'fast' every time on the player i'm not sure! Anyway thanks for listening and commenting.

So Good To Me
I concur with "davevan' just a little more production and this would
be an interesting Track....
The lyrics can stand on there own they're strong enough.....
Just lacks a bit of Dynamics, some edge.
Over all pretty good.

rsorensen said 274 days ago
i hear ya
thanks new version coming soon!

said 274 days ago
Great
You really have a good voice... This is a good song... Good played on guitar.... I like this a lot... Good melody....

rsorensen said 273 days ago
thanks!
really appreciate you listening and commenting

dlb said 273 days ago
cool
yes it is a bit hit and miss in places, but the song itself is great!

rsorensen said 271 days ago
hit and miss
indeed - it's just a rough demo. I just finished the vox on the new version last night, however. just gotta do some slide over it all next.
