Description The biblical account (Matthew 14:1-12, Mark 6:14-29, Luke 9:7-9) portrays the beheading of St. John the Baptist by Herod Antipas. According to the Synoptic Gospels, Herod had imprisoned John because he reproved Herod for divorcing his wife (Phasaelis), and unlawfully taking his brother Philip's wife, Herodias. On Herod's birthday, Herodias' daughter (traditionally named Salome) danced before the king and his guests. Her dancing pleased Herod so much that in his drunkenness he promised to give her anything she desired, Up to half of his kingdom. When the daughter asked her mother what she should request, she was told to ask for the head of John the Baptist on a platter. Although Herod was appalled by the request, he reluctantly agreed and had John executed in the prison.

	This is a very descriptive piece of music with good production and playing. I remember learning about this story in school. Royalty again ! gord I dunno, Cromwell sorted then out for us in the UK, and not before time. Bit extreme maybe though! Mind you we've still got 'em here. Excellent work, John

	It's all in there... The provocative dance, the shock at the request, the regret at having promised anything, and the angels attending John in the prison, the guards marching down to bring John to be executed, then once more, angels attending him as his life here ends and he goes into Glory. (at least that is what I heard) Very well played and produced, Bill.

I wondered
what I was going to here with a title like 'Salome' after hearing a few Rugby songs of that title LOL. This is a wonderfully descriptive piece of music and very sympathetically chosen instruments to accompany the guitar. The choirs and synth are very subtly encoded into this Eastern sounding melody. I can almost see Salome dancing to this with those finger bells ringing in my ear:a DL for sure, regards M

	Beautifully done Bill A very moving piece of musical story telling. Excellent interplay between the various elements of the story and as always, your playing is flawless as is the production and mixing. It has the subtle feel of the middle east but with a the darker undertones of the tragedy of the John the Baptist story. Thanks for sharing this one Bill, it is excellent. Ed

	Interesting.. Interesting music. I liked the guitar in the mix, and the melody is memorable. Sort of has a Spanish lilt to it in places. I thought the mix was also good. Well done!
