Description I wrote and recorded this December 2007 after getting fed up with all the tv lawyers you can't move for. A bit of doo wop thrown in for good measure.
Lyrics Courtroom Dramas by woofer3

written and recorded December 2007.

I turned my television on last night, and sat down with a beer,
I thought I'd watch alone at home, create some atmosphere,
But as I flicked the channel switch they started to emerge,
One at first, two and three, it soon became a surge.

Lawyers everywhere I look, all around the room,
Some of them not from this world, re runs from the tomb.
Some still standing black and white, with trilbys at the slope.
Pinstripe suits,direction fast,cigarettes not dope.

- Chorus -
Living in the world of courtroom dramas,
Getting pretty tired of the tv charmers,
John Deed, La Law, Le Shark,it's all the same,
They never change the format or the game.

Prosecution states the case that goes on much too long,
Witnesses repeating what goes on and on and on,
Justice seems to come and go we've seen it all before,
Judges lay the law down firm, tempers start to soar.

- Chorus [X2]-

- Break -

Heavy eyes now fighting sleep, voices far away,
Just another legal deep, just another day,
Clever banter takes it's toll as Perry makes his speech,
Watching the detectives fold just inside his reach.

Chorus.

thanks
I'm afraid I don't have much of a vocal range and can't hold long notes very well. It's the writing I'm really interested in. I love writing songs. Thanks very much for listening.

Well being
a fan of good harmony and the Beach Boys I can't help but like this. Neat song put together very well. The kind of thing that makes you happy just hearing it.

thanks

Really, really fun!
Sounds like a hybrid of the Beach Boys (harmony), Ringo Starr (fun) and touch of Ian Hunter (wit and whimsey). Very strong writing... loved how you did the vocal phrasings... and well performed. Matched the song perfectly!

Welcome to MacJams
Keep 'em coming like this one! You have a fresh approach that is very appealing.

woofer3 said 337 days ago
thank you
Thanks for your welcome, everyone here has been friendly, I may not be much on production but I do try to write different songs, as I'm a musician rather than a sound engineer.

John.

I am
working my way backwards through your songs, each one is very, very impressive and diverse.
Getting massive 10cc flashbacks with this - fantastic vocal harminies.
Love it.
Cheers
Len

I wrote the song
while watching television last Christmas, the lyrics came quite quickly. I like to sit down in front of the tv with my guitar and just write, most of my songs over the past three or so years have been created like this. I used to use the piano to write before that.

Thank you for your comments.

Ray Davies Would Be Proud
This has a distinct Kinks feel to me. The melody and words remind me of Ray Davies, satiric and funny. Good arrangement also.

Really good song and your singing sets the right tone.

Good one!
