Hey Mark, I'm listening over my best haute-fidelity headphones, and this sounds really, really good... As a feelingful performance, it's wonderful, and the recording is as good as I think you're going to get until that left hand of yours lets you return to the acoustic... This is truly beautiful... Bell-like tones and a lovely reverberation... I love it all, but I especially love the final jig... Ed |

Bravo Mark This is just exactly what you wanted it to be. Has an almost Nylon string sound to it to my ears. But there's more to it than just the nylon sound. The reverberations makes it sound like it's played in a cathedral. Your playing is exquisite as always. Thank you for sharing this one Mark, it's a very beautiful piece. Ed |

Reverb The 'verb works well to get a churchy sound - the guitar almost sounds like an organ in spots. Breathtaking and sacred - wonderful track, Mark. |

I must say that from what I can hear, your hand is working far better than mine. Beautiful 15/16th century sounding tones. It would be nice as a backdrop to a mediaeval film I think, regards M |

churchiness Beautiful tone. Just enough familiar passages to make one feel comfortable and just enough departures to keep one on ones toes. I really liked the progression and atmosphere. Warm and cozy reverb setting. Nice. Hope your hand eventually feels better.... |

Beautiful And the electric guitar gives it a little "organ" feel. Prayerful and meditative. Added to favorites. |

Amen Acoustic or Electric, doesn't much matter. This is very good bit of playing and sounds right for your *mission*. ;) Knowing how an infirmity in your left hand can challenge how you play guitar makes this even more impressive. --- Joe |

Great playing and beautiful tone I like all the little allusions to classic pieces in the flow of the work. Very nice indeed. |

Harpsicord I think the electric guitar sounds fantastic on this track. Acoustic would sound nice, but the electric gives it a little something different, which is great. Call me crazy, but I'd like to hear this played on a harpsicord. Maybe that's just me, I'm always going for baroque... sorry. I had to say it. But seriously, I think it would really translate beautifully. |

Liturgical Bach would have been very comfortable with this. So you wrote this? You've really got composing chops. Love the voicings and the constantly moving bass line against the contrasting melody. Reminds me of Lenten hymns from the Lutheran hymnal I was raised on. The changing meter is a good choice -- interesting structure. Sorry to hear about your left hand. That really stinks. |

nice choice... Very cool synergistic choices here... first, the melodies and harmonies are sweet and satisfying. Secondly, the steel-strings give a sharper attack, which creates more of a metallic-ringing, almost bell-like tone. Then, the tune is played slowly, so each note has its own life as it slowly decays. Finally, the cathedral-reverb enhances the carillon effect... and all these choices create a very rich "Renaissance-Cathedral" kind of feel. Exquisite. ttfn, Drakonis PS - gorgeous photo, where is that? |

Quotes? The classical harmonies give this tune the solemn atmosphere you aim for, so that's mission accomplished. Erm, there are a couple of phrases that I would change slightly: right now it sounds like you're playing "let nothing you dismay" and "should audl acquaintance".... |

...I think the church-like sound is very well captured on the electric. Can't say I wouldn't love to hear you on an acoustic...but this is beautiful, Mark.
