Description Reinholt56 just posted this tone poem that he did experimenting with bell sounds. http://www.macjams.com/song/37330
I thought it was really beautiful so i did a remix of it. i ran it through Gleetchlab, Audacity (for backwards reverb and pitch manipulation) and then dumped it into GB3 where i added some fuzz and layered his track with a few things i had done. any distortion you hear is purely intentional. if you're not into sound for sounds sake, you probably won't like this at all.

all of the gleetchlab stuff is done as you go along (improv). it was very nice of Paul to let me play with this one. I am a huge fan of his ambient tone experiments.

Fuzzy wuzzy wuz a very cool track
by M2 - courtesy of R56. Congrats gents on a neat collaboration. Very Solaris / 2001 - really excellent.

BTW - there's about 30 secs. of silence at the end. Intentional?

michael2 said 400 days ago
thanks bud
yeah i don't know w hat happened at the end. unintentional. glad you liked. should have mentioned that this shouldn't be played loudly.

Karmatoburn said 400 days ago
that was so
cool. I heard the transporter from star trek in there. beam to another dimension. ambience at its best.

michael2 said 400 days ago
thanks
i'm glad that some people could get into this. Paul's original is a thing of beauty. thanks for listening.

Bell feedback
I love it (as I did the original)

This sounds like some of ditties I have done

Back in the 70s in the UK, there used to be a TV show called UFO. This reminds me of the end credits to that show

Nice one

thanks Bryn
glad you listened to this one. pauls original is nicer i think, but this was much fun for me. as for sounding like some of your past stuff, that's encouraging to me as i really love what you do and I am always trying to stretch out a bit. thanks again.

michael2 said 399 days ago
nice one
i can totally see it. maybe i need to do the sci-fi mix and break out the theremin and some vibes. thanks for that bryn.

2001, a space oddity
and I'm Major Tom, floating in my head cans.

michael2 said 399 days ago
thanks for listening Vic
sure it's not a song, but this is what I think of much of the time when I think of the cinematic genre. now i just need to find someone who needs a score for a sci-fi flick or a movie about a desperate loner.

echoroom said 400 days ago
Yeah, UFO...
.. it has that sorta feel, also kinda David Lynch-ish, a very ominous feel ... I kept waiting for you to sing on this one!

that's wild that you and Bryn both know UFO; i've never heard of it. The word makes me think of either Carl Sagan or the 70's rock band (Lights Out In London). No vox this go round, it was purely a tone poem. check out Pauls original. thanks for coming by.

biba_nova said 399 days ago
UFO
Here is the end sequence to UFO

Its not exactly the same but I think you will see where I saw the similarity

An excellent arrangement......
This sounds excellent Michael. Stockhausen is there but not to the harshness of some of his work (I've lots of his tracks to go through at the moment, but some are hard work). This piece seems to flow along 'swimmingly'.

I haven't played with Gleetch as of yet, except with the test tone........LOUD, as you said!!

I'm also dead chuffed that Bryn had positive things to say about both versions. The fact that you chose my music and Bryn listened and commented, made my day.

Thanks for your work and your musical ideas, and for your caring about everyone in the MJ virtual world.

Take care.

Paul

thanks Paul
i'm so glad that you approve. i had a blast playing with this one. weird thing happened when i downloaded it, there were a couple of drop-outs that you don't hear when listening to your original. trying to cover those was probably the most time consuming part of this.

Bryn is a creative force to be reckoned with, so I am always stoked when he checks out my stuff.

don't be surprised if you hear a bit of this dropped into a regular rock type song one of these days. i keep hearing this in my head over the bridge of something i've been working on. thanks again for letting me have my way with it.

Space Fizzy
A very Eno sounding song.Yah, I listen to his 'Songs for Airports ' album a number of times back when acid was all the rage, but just really wanted to know if in fact you ever sleep!

Blessings,

michael2 said 398 days ago
you
know, I really love eno. he's a huge influence for me (the pop stuff as well as the more sound oriented). thanks for checking this out.

said 398 days ago
can u say royalty free?
this would be a great background track for film of almost any genre, especially sci-fi obviously. it sounds like a few royalty free tracks i have used for films in the past. nice artistic take on sound.

thanks for
giving this one a listen; i realize that it's not for everyone. i think it's very soundtrack-ey too.

said 398 days ago
i did like it
i hope you didn't take my comment wrong. just was saying that i would like to have it for a film track one day.

oh
not at all. agreeing with you is all. yeah, i would probably be up for that, but it is a remix of reinholdt56's bell tone experiment. the link to his is at the top of the page.

You have been quite
the busy beaver, monsieur! Trippy intro:-))
aaaahhhhhh, its all intro;-)
Hihihihi.....triiiiiiiiippy BUT also emotional. Love the sharp edges......Spacey thingies floating around too. I love it when you walk on the edges of your creativity. Very good execution. I dig it, a lot. Me go zZzzz on this...ciaaao

michael2 said 398 days ago
hey marc
glad you got a chance to check this out. listen to paul's original (unlike mine, it's beautiful). going over to hear your latest now.

sounds sake
Man, I am totally into this. I could listen to something like this that went on and on and on... it's a little stark, chilling and disturbingly organic.
Gold stars all around.

Eno-ish
Interesting experiment. I'll have to check out the original as well. Does remind me of Eno a bit - one of my favs! I'm partial to the electronic as well so this is right up my alley! I find Audacity a bit hard to work with but I may have to try it again seeing what you accomplished with it.

michael2 said 267 days ago
thanks man
audacity is a little weird to use sometimes, but you can really do some cool things you can't do in GB (like reverse), and you can also get a lot more effects for it. there are pretty good tutorials available on their website and a million things to be found if you google. i have it on my work computer so i can play around in my free time.
