Description Just posted a sound bed (jimijam) and Stephen Lang (stevel) graciously added his remarkable talent (Vocals and Guitar) and made a simple jam a million times brighter. Many thanks to Steve for being so incredibly easy to work with. Not only am I blown away with what he added, but I think he did it in a day. :-)

Sounds cool!
Thanks to karma for letting me add to this ...it was really fun to contribute to such a powerful instrumental track. Thanks also to Moviz who contacted me and suggested I have a go at this!

Wow
Slick vocal, I can't believe the one day story. Sounds like the music was made for the vocal. Feast for the ears.

Thanks
Bill

Whoooohoooo!
I just knew you were meant for each other LOL. Two of my fave artists and it sounds great. What a lovely blend of Steve's vocal/guitar and John's terrific music.... sounds like a real 'classic to me, great stuff, regards to both, M

thx
to you Moviz for bringing this to Steve's radar. I appreciate it beyond words.
I'm really thrilled with the way it turned out. Steve's take on this is great

michael2 said 401 days ago
this is cool
like the classic song elements mixed with the electronics. steves voice sounds great. check out the Tindersticks, this reminds me of them a bit (mostly the vox, piano and strings). great song.

Ibstrat said 401 days ago
This is
really pro sounding.Excellent vocals and guitar work. Background groove is awesome.

collab sounds like one
Very nice addition with the vocals and guitar sounding like they were original in the design of the sound bed, which was pretty excellent too.
Well done.

spitlogic said 400 days ago
sounds great
My only complaint is that the lyrics aren't posted here.

jiguma said 399 days ago
Great combo
Loved the original track, and Steve's just added so much! This context suits your playing so much Steve - I've always thought you were one of the most interesting lead players on MJ. The vox just works so well too.
Fine collab gentlemen!

wow
this is pretty amazing. I like the contrast between the steady, soft, pensive keys and the (wow) guitars. Don't know if I'd heard Stevel's singing before, but it is something else! What a gift to have such a rich, low voice.

ktb, great song!

Karmatoburn said 398 days ago
hey!
Yes, Steve's vocal sounds great. You also made my day re: steady, soft, pensive keys...:-) Hope you're not going too crazy with planning for the big day.

Fine stuff...composition and performances...like the subtle background touches a lot...

Peter Bauckham said 397 days ago
I'm a bit
late coming to this and didn't hear it before. In any case it sounds excellent. Steve's vocals and guitar playing sounds like it was there from the start. Very well put together.

Great piece...
the rhythm is catchy and the piano sets the tone (tune?).....all the instruments sounds just great. Thank you.

Excellent collab gents
nothing like laying some sexy licks in a hot bed.

thoddi said 394 days ago
groovy
Cool groovy bed that must have been a dream to jam on top of. Bryan Ferry'ish singing. Great sounding guitars, and very tasty work on the keys.

Melody
Your melody is simple, but well-crafted. Just a few notes, if they are the right ones, is all you need for a great hook, and you have one here.

Guitar work is really very fine.

The piano chords (that's the origin of this, right?), provide an excellent springboard for improvisation and layering on top.

Nice work here, Karm and friends.

I think "if I was to put together a band of MJ allstars" who would I choose... and I invariably always end up putting you on keys... some folks just know what and where to put each note... you understand your instrument... and you really think like a producer...

someone once brought me a demo.. you know "Listen Scot listen" the first thing I said was "who produced this, a keyboard player right?" "how'd you know?.... it wasn't a compliment... the last thing I want someone to think when they hear a production is "GUITAR PLAYER"... I'd rather leave the impression that I listened to the song!

that's what you consitantly do... pay attention to the song... that's what pros do...

you're a pro John... an allstar

Karmatoburn said 384 days ago
whew
Scott, high praise coming from you. Thanks for the kind words. I've always wanted to be viewed as an ensemble player. Someone who can fit something in to help create a larger whole. Your thoughtful comments are very much appreciated.

yep, that is very good, well done, really smooth, love this song.

This is a great combination
of a lovely instrumental track, and a vocal that fits perfectly with the mood and style of the music. I can imagine there would have been lots of different directions to go on this, and I think this deep, rich vocal was the way to go. Very cool. Nicely done to you both. Peace.
