Description Are you sick of being lied to....by your TV....and all of the charlatans that have managed to scam someone to get their own shows (i.e. paranormal/televangelists/reality(??) tv shows).....this song is directed at the liars/actors behind shows like Ghost Hunters/ Haunted Live/ Dead Famous....not that all involved are bad people....but with producers/post production crews/ratings to achieve and ad space to sell....how can they get away with considering it science?? We believe in the other side....We believe in spirits....And whether they are there or not, we don't believe that science should take a back seat to drama....all the while mis-leading the masses to a false hope in the name of money....and yes....you are not alone....enjoy

Lyrics The Charlatans Tele
Music and Lyrics by: Ian Baird

Here they come, here they come, here come the charlatans
With a camera a boom mic and a dolly grip
Director says if you wanna be a cable star
Make with the ghostly interception and we’ll hit the mark

The smoke and the mirrors, it’s preached as the gospel
The cartoon clerics, ignoring the sings

There they go, there they go, with the talismans
Sometimes the shadows cast down like to radio in
Catch the orb, press record is that an e.v.p.
They’ll swear it’s all true on the bible, so long as it’s green

The architects want to dissolve you in light
They got you staring at the tele, faith by fright

We saw it on tv so it must be true
We saw it on tv so it’s real right??

The architects want to dissolve you in light
They got you staring at the tele, faith by fright

Here they come, here they come, here come the charlatans
There they go, there they go, with the talismans
Here they come, here they come, here come the charlatans
There they go, there they go, cashing in on the end
Hardware micro korg, various mics, and other gadgets of a wide array of shapes and sizes
Software: pro-tools, reason 3.0, gb using AU plug-ins from logic

very pro all thru
great sound/producing and songcraft... the 1/2 time bridge arrived at just the right moment for my ears... Here they come... I don't know why we don't just turn the thing off at this point... I love the eliptical lyrics, and the mystery that you leave in a very pointed song.. finger pointing is hard to pull off in a song in my view... it can marginalize the work, whatever the subject matter... this is well done, and rises above that...

I'm currently working on a piece about televangelists more or less... my pet peeve...

we could book end the songs

intriguing & smooooth
Welcome (back) to Macjams! Nice song here... Lyrics are well written and wonderfully sung, nice smooth & bumpy meter that is quirky but catchy. When I was listening, my mind was making comparisons between Annie Lennox and B-52s, and then Don Henley (i.e. bouncy music backing and lyric content ala "All she wants to do is dance".) My only critique is at times the music gets a little crowded and "too much is going on"... but its a minor nit, overall this is quite an enjoyable song.

Great track!
Well done and very topical theme too about 'veracity' through broadcast.
Thanks,
Doug

No Vision in Telly
Great, catchy tune.

Well-sung, Trinka.

Terrific job on the sound, Ian.

Not often I hear something I like in this often-gimmicky genre, but this has solid musical worth. ;)

Fab just totally fab.
Love that pause on the beat in the intro - in fact it's such a good beat that I'm typing in time now to the kick - quality vocal and a nice hook -
superb finale -smoke and mirrors... incisive lyric...but that intro - fucking boss, I kid thee not. and the t.v. charlatans... fuck them - they do not get it...y'get me. Be lucky.

Excellent
Great production, song writing, vocals, and effects. I really like how the vocals come on strong with an addictive tone and melody. Whoa that's good stuff. Let me add the bass next time!!

Really
a fun ride. I %u2665 it so much, I'm taking it home with me.

I'll concur with Draconis that in the change up, it, the music, gets in the ear more then the voice does. But it could be my ears there reather well used. It was a lot clearer though, when I read the lyric with it.

Do, do, do some more. Your really creative as well as having a great vox and I hope we don't have to wait to long for the next one.

You really got me
great song. Excellent production, vocals and lyrics - this is really happening. Looking forward to more from you two.

jiguma said 397 days ago
Yes!
Love your voice Trinks - very pro sounding (but would like it a little louder in the mix). Like Eduard, a little more going on than seems necessary in the backing, but hey, what would we know :)
I really hope you post some more tunes Ian - especially if Trinka's voice is part of the deal. First class lyrics. I like it!

one of the honestly best songs i've heard posted in electropoop for a long time. hook laden, with honestly good vocals, lyrics and vocal production. AND, most important to me, you really paid attention to the electro in the pop- some wonderful sounds swirling around in there.

and i had to laught as listening to this- this must be written in response to ghosthunters, and that crop of 'reality tv'. i have to admit that i watched 'em all, and ghosthunters actually got me going for a few, until that abysmal halloween marathon episode. my boyfriend would catch me watching that trash and make speeches of a much less elegant manner than you have here ;)

Pride in your Product..... favorited by me
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Musically and lyrically!!!!!! This is more than less what I'm talking about. Good thoughtful, not rushed sounding, well produced.

I guess what I was also talking about was the fact that alot of the music on here is just slung right up without taking pride in the product. Taking pride in her product, something omnibus11 does.
