Description She worked in a little coffee house in the basement of some building somewhere.
I stopped in on a cold winter's night.
She wore nearly all black.
A black tight-fitting blouse and short black skirt,
a red belt about her waist
and black fish net hose.
She had a smile that warmed the coffee as she carried it
and a walk that warmed me as I drank it in.
I drank way too much coffee.
A jazz trio played in the corner.
And I was snared in the black fish nets,

Nice Tune!!
It took me back to that old dank kinda sorta club on NYCs upper west side. The one with that red neon light burning brightly in the window by the door. I remember that jazz trio too. Man that pianist sure tore up that Rhodes piano he played. And I remember that waitress in black with the fishnet stockings. How can I forget how that fishnet just wrapped around her upside down bowling pin legs. She served me a Rum and Coke....Thanks for the memories!

OH heck ...
I thought I was the only one in her life!!!

I'm glad you liked it.
I'm also sure there was one of those girls in most of our lives. Some worked in a coffee house, some in bars, some even in the local Denny's ... but none of them ever worked at McDonalds. You don't daydream about McDonald's employees.

oh yeah
bill - you got it DOWN.
the graphic is such a smile-maker - right mix of serious and not.
more grins at "snared in the black fish nets."
musically - i can only shake my head in amazed glee - GLEE i tell ya! - at where you go and how you get there. edgy weird things thrown into a superb n sexy groove make it soooooo ANNOUNCER.
excellent package!

Thanks
One of the older pieces of mine that I have been sitting on for quite a while. I reworked it a bit a few months ago and liked the changes but still wasn't totally sold on the fact that it was ready for Macjams. I remastered it the other night and decided that I liked it enough to post it here. It's supposed to just be a fun piece based around the drum groove. I'm glad you stopped by for a few minutes.

Laid back cool groove
I dig it. I think the drums are a tad soft, too far back. The organ too loud for its place is not quite a lead line. In many ways, the track is like a groove bed waiting for a lead, other the comping has some great break out spots, and the simplicity gives it a really nice laid back feel.

I love organ.

You want to help?
A piano lead would be cool. Maybe you'd like to redo the whole organ part.

I'll have to take another listen with your comments about the mix in mind. I've listened to the song so many times that I may have lost the ability to really hear it.

At any rate, I am honored that you stopped by and gave me the pleasure of your ears for a few minutes.

Blowin' Smoke.
Oh how I love these kinda' songs. The tight standup bass and drum groove and those sweet B3 sounding organ riffs really shine through. Also love the talkback and interplay between the various instruments each taking a measure in the spotlight.Except for the disturbing pic of the man in heels and black fishnets this was very much enjoyed.

Blessings,

LOL
Thanks for the comment. I too am in love with the "B3" in all its iterations. I use it quite often in my pieces cause I like the sound so much. I just wish I could play it.

Thanks again

Reminds me of...
Medeski, Martin and Wood. Whenever I hear that funky B3 sound it reminds me of an old school MMW tune.

Thanks ... I like that sound too
I've liked the b3 sound with the leslie since my high school days when I used to help a bunch of friends who had a band haul it from gig to gig. In a small room with the sound being thrown around by the rotating horns it was a sonic delight.
