Description This is the song originally called "Slow Burn" that I posted back in September. Allen Dean and Chris Cihon took this to a whole new level and I can't thank them enough for doing this. Thanks guys- you ROCK!

	Thanks Jason! When Allen sent me his vocal track, I about fell off of the chair after hearing it! I kept thinking, "is this really the same song?" Allen and Chris really did take this to another level, or two, or three or.... :) I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment! Hopefully that project at work went a little better afterwards.

	BTW: I'm glad I bailed on the bass. I really think I would have held the piece back. A tune like this requires an experienced metal-man at the bass, and not a tired old classic rocker like me. You guys are amazing together!

	Sweet! What a rocker! Every time I hear this it reminds me of an overlooked album from Queensryche called "Tribe". Allen's vox are always on the money through out the whole piece. If I may ask, What was the influence behind this song? What inspired the "feeling and vibe" you achieved Mike? Very powerful! Thanks for letting me get in on it. I had fun. Chris

That's what I've wanted to ask Allen when he wrote the vocals.

For me, I just liked that group of riffs and as I edited, I could hear what I'd want the next part to do. Making that happen was a different story with only so many notes and variations available.

The second song I ever post here was called Eastern Way of Thinking. There's some similarities between the two songs, and
maybe subconsciously .....
I don't know if you ever heard it before I took it off of here.

when i first heard this, i got the whole mid-eastern thing, but what struck me was the feeling of flying through a cloudless desert dusk, just before the creatures of the night take over the world of men and rule the world. what better way to experience this than in the footsteps of my ancestors and the world of thier spirit guides. as he floats over the fire where his body lies, with the eyes of his eagle-spirit he is at one with all creation and the eternity of the universe.

Wow Mike!!! Got caught up in this one...
like dancing arms stretched out heavenward in between jewel colored Sari's whipping around me (on one of those old square configured clotheslines) in an eastern sandstorm of sound!!! You make an awesome bed - hospital corners and all - you could bounce a quarter off how tight this is!!! :-) So, this is what came out of "Eastern Way Of Thinking" (?) What an amazing spiritual experience!!! Love what You, Allen, and Chris did with this! Allen's lyrics and vocals are phenomenal! Definately post the lyrics, please!!!! Sooo freakin' cool, Allen! ... which suggest to me a western rather than eastern philosophical/religious experience - but the music still reminds me of "Eastern Way Of Thinking." I can't stop listening to this!!!! You've taken me into "Kick A__" Nirvana! :-) Thanks for making all my molecules re-arrange and regroup themselves like some really intricate break shot on a pool table where all the balls go effortlessly into the proper pockets clearing the table. :-) I needed a "happy fix" right about now, Mikey_D. Awesome song! Allen has got an amazing set of pipes (singing voice)!!! And the leads just blow me away! :-)

I must've posted the lyrics right after your first comment. I felt like such a doof because Allen had sent them to me a while ago and I didn't see the attachment. Good thing I saved the emails (reality- too lazy to go through and delete old emails, haha)

To me, these guys really made the track. What I had originally was ok, but now it really slams. I'm glad that our collab. made your day- that's always a good thing :)

	Creamy That vocal is full of Jack Bruce intonations to me - have always loved his vocals. Terrific bass tone, and the guits are just right. Mike. I suspect that you are in your drumming element doing this stuff - powerful and interesting. Not my fav genre, but a really good post. Go Jack! Neil

Hammer It Down!!!
Hell yes! Massive production - I love that! Usually when someone comes on this hard, the vocals and/or lyrics will suck but you've got both nailed. The way spirits of the sky rings out is fantastic and the changes that follow blow the walls down. Very, very cool!

Hmm...the ending was a bit strange. It kind of came to a hard stop and it didn't. I see the value in taking eternity and then stopping hard right after to emphasize the meaning of the word but it didn't quite feel right. This is so trivial relative to everything else about the tune but maybe worth a revisit. Just two cents worth :) Great jams!!!

	Interesting comparison I had my friend listen to this last week and he said the main riff reminded him of a Soundgarden track (he couldn't remember the name of it though).
