Description Well, this is pretty much a first for me. Playing keyboards as the prominant instruments. It probably took me a gazillion times to play it right.

I would also like to thank Alannah for the idea of the song title and lyrics. I was really stuck for ideas to write about.

	Shifting goal posts again I know what you mean about keyboards. Thank God for quantize (as far as I'm concerned) This is really good, I think it's good to write with a different instrument but I'm pleased you stayed with the guitars for the break. 	Vic This is awesome I love when the drums kick in at the beginning.The mix sounds great.What did you do to make the guitar sound like that in the solo?I'm a big fan of descending bass lines.Also ending on Em-great!Also you have a unique and very cool voice.

	Bravo! Nice work Vic! It feels good to get out of one's comfort zone and try something different, doesn't it? And this is quite a departure! Love the sound of the keys thoughout. Quite true, It was fun to tackle something a bit different instrumentally wise.

I've been wanting to do something along this line for some time. But it wasn't until i came up with this that I felt it would be doable. But man oh man I had to play the keyboard over and over to get it down before I could start recording.

But. I'm glad I challenged myself here.
BTW, I broke another piece off a tooth. crap!

Yup...
I have the same problem when recording keys...especially the piano! Organ is easier. I think because there's more "flow" or something. All your practicing seems to have payed off here.

RE the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth: Are you sure you're not carrying a torch for your dentist bro?

I was seeing (on a strictly professional basis) a pretty Asian dentist some years back. She stopped seeing me after I bit her finger really hard! My current dentist is a really cool old guy who is also a dead-ringer for Donald Sutherland.

Personally I think you should stop playing your lead guitar solos with your teeth. It's been done to death you know!

	Nice to hear you doing something a little different - but still sounding like you at the same time. I think this is one of your best productions - everything sounds very nicely placed in the mix. I'm glad there's still enough of your guitar sounds on this - I'd have missed them. Great tune and lyrics. Peter

	I really like the relaxed vibe of this one maybe with fewer guitars there are fewer rhythmic lines running at the same time. Whatever it is - it's really cool - especially the way the chorus kinda chills the beat as opposed to driving it. Very Vic - wonderful as usual and well constructed.Good lyrics and pipes too.

	consistency Vic, you need to bring out an album real soon, mate. This is another brilliant track. Always at the same consistent quality level. And that voice... aaah, so unique. I especially loved the vocal line in the verses. It also put my on the wrong tempo foot at the very beginning (which is a great thing), a 6/8 measure which turns out to be a 4/4. Splendid work! Walt

They just keep coming! Congratulations - doing this on keys must have been "interesting" (it certainly would be for me to try this).

I really enjoy the sound you get on your voice - part accent, part recodring technique and partly having an unusual voice (we should start a club!). In fact I like everything about this - very early Brit sound, lovely production.

I did have to really go for broke on the keyboard. I just tinkle around once in a while. A lot of practicing before i hit record, and that took some takes as well.

the only thing i use on the vocals is compression, low cut & reverb in stereo. So why it does what it does is beyond me. I'm guessing you are thinking the same of yourself as well. True, we need a club name for our vocal sounds. "The Throatles?"

	i definitely wasn't expecting this when it first started playing. Great song, and your keyboard playing is really good. This song has some great changes, and the vocals are really cool. love when it gets to the pasrt about the 2 ships passing in the night. excellent.

	Hi Michael I thought it might catch someone of guard. When I was playing around and came up with the intro. I knew I had to see this one through. Most of the keyboard tunes I tried and gave up on. This one wouldn't work as well on guitar. To make up for it I had to add the queen style 3 part guitar solo. of course. Just listened to your Lou tune. That was great

	Great sound here Your voice reminds me of the pop star 'Donovan' from the late 60s. Your style is very 'British Invasion' to my ear. A treat. Sort of a cross between "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and "There's A Kind Of A Hush" by Herman's Hermits. I love the guitar harmonies, parallel to the guitar melody. Quite cool.

Oops! Meant to get back sooner...
Had one of these moments just recently - I'm taking a long wait and see approach [reading "Catch 22", and laughing, like I haven't done in years], but I've grown used to and fond of amusement parks and won't let myself get sidetracked. Getting good at jumping free of carousels and landing on my feet. :-) Forward movement = positive journey. :-)

Ahhh! One of the classier pick up lines... the kind you can't just dismiss outright... some sort of conversation ensues... possible foot in door... way better than... say..., "Wanna come over to my place and see my 'etchings'?" But then she'd be on the ropes with your really wonderful art work... Wow!!! You're GOOOD!!! :-) "Hungry Like The Wolf," huh?! (Duran Duran ?) How about "Animal" ( ha! ha! - and guess who did that one. :-) around the same time I believe [?] ) Trivial Pursuit - the MacJams version. :-)

And then some guy really had to go and write the most disgustingly ridiculous pick up line I've ever heard. My son's teenage friends used to laugh and sing it - "You and me Babe ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's...........Discovery Channel." That crap gets airtime?, when there are really great artists on MacJams who can write circles around that kind of junk. Go Figure.

Anyhoo! :-) Lovely song Vic. Bet she stayed and talked with you all night if she heard your song. :-)

Gentle Song Of Wistful Hopes
...this one brought me back to so many places, so many moments that are just part of my history now but still have the emotional pull of what might have been...

Your keyboards are perfect, as is just about everything else about this song. It amazes me that you can pull off these tunes and not only have them sound so smooth and solid, but still have the emotional poignant edge of a teenage yoot who just banged out the first song for the girl of his dreams.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...... CD. I'd love to have a Vic Holman CD cranked in my car with the jewel case sitting prominently on the front seat... maybe hear it playing at the local music store, and all the yoots would nod and say, "yeah, that's Vic Holman... f***in' awesome, man."

Hint: feature ducks as a prominent element in the cover art. Not nearly enough ducks in music anymore.

	Thanks Maurice I don't play keyboards much. But, this song probably wouldn't work any other way. I also doubled the main synth with a clavinet. It's not to noticable but it is there. Thanks for the listen.

	I toatlly agree! The Beatles and Lennon really used descending bass lines quite a lot in their music. It's a slower tune, basiccaly because I can't play the keyboards any faster. I appreciate you giving it a listen!

	Thanks Peter To me, a tune without some guitars would be like missing an arm. I kept them minimal. I didn't even add acoustics til near the end. Then i had to figure transposing them from the keyboard, which was a little tricky. Considering there are some odd chords that I don't have the slightest idea of what the name of them were.

	Thanks Walt I use to say never on compiling a CD. But I'm starting to think about it. Definately would need to go back and redo or fix stuff. This was a challenge considering i don't consider myself a keyboardist. But I gave it a go and surprised myself that I was able to pull it off.

	yes i picked up my m-audio keyboard with 49 keys. for around $130. pressure sensitive keys as well. have had no problem with it at all. Thanks for the listen!

	hey Carole This is my seedy nightclub act. Mostly working for tips and a free drink. Now I saw a commercial with an older actor doing hungry like the wolf with babes all around. it must be true if it's on tv. Lyrically it works two ways depending how you read it. one is a sense of deja vu and also can work as a male peacock hoot. ha!
