Description This is the final version. After months of computer problems and procrastination. A very special thanks to Amanda for her, as always, spectacular backing vocals. Also a shout out to Rob K. on lead guitar. Glad I caught him before he left the MacJams fold. Ya'll can check him out here:

Lyrics Bright White
Dave Placko © 1993

Bright white before me
Endless horizon
unopened book
unwritten pages

Why can't the stories be told?
Why can't I understand?
What's become of baby?
Why doesn't it fit the plan?

Bureaucracy bullshit!
I - hate you
Tellin' me I gotta fit in
I just want to go on livin', yeah

To hell with all of this structure
I'm tired of bein' in your chains
I wanna do what the hell I wanna do
Don't you be messin' with my brain

Bureaucracy bullshit!
I - hate you
Tellin' me I gotta fit in
I just want to go on livin', yeah

To hell with all of this structure
It don't even have to rhyme
Or even have any time
Or even mean a damn thing

Bureaucracy bullshit!
I - hate you
Tellin' me I gotta fit in
I just want to go on livin', yeah

AMAZING!
This sounds so amazing!!! I just listened to the old one in comparison and wow! You've done a fabulous job! Guitar is sooooo sexy and soulful.
A long but worthwhile project I think.
You're such a talented man!
Amanda
P.S. It was a pleasure - for you anything.

My best MacJams buddy. How the heck are you? Thanks for listening.

Scott Carmichael said 420 days ago
mysterious & atmospheric
excellent vox all around... the guitar work is perfect... it really propells the song... this has such a cool vibe.. as I read the lyrics, Dave... I'd like to hear you scream this toward the end... I don't care about the notes... just the emotion... your voice is smooth and sweet to the ear... this song is just beggin' for you to ruff it up a bit before it's done...

sheesh... I haven't been in touch for a few months... then I come and critisize...

sorry... this is great... did I mention that part

bug67 said 420 days ago
Scott
Thanks for the critique. I used to belt this out a long time ago. However, as I've gotten older, my voice has mellowed somewhat and I can't scream 'em like I used to; at least not in a multiple take situation. In other words, if I don't get the scream right within the first couple of takes, forget it.

Great track
Top quality song, performance, production! Has a nice Gilmour/Knopfler/Steve Stills feel. Cheers for sharing!

Floyd meets Crosby, Stills and Nash. Beautiful man. The whole song has a great tone to it. Thank you for sharing.

Frank.

drums still make me smile... love Floyd. Cool, lush new voxes, special mention goes to the nice guitar solo and fills... very soulful... one of my favorites.

I'm so lucky to have a friend that plays drums and does so well. It has made making music for this site a very rewarding experience. Thank you for listening.

yeah
I commented to you before in email, but here it is...

Nice tune all around, next time 'belt it out' at the end -heh he (picked from Scott there). That would be cool to hear you truly bust a nut on the vox on the end part.... (free bird, yeah:) But it's good as is, Dave, nice done. Also a cool harmony from Amanda

WOW!
Great production Dave. It sounds very professional; the kind of sound that turns your head and makes you listen. Rhythm and melody mixed superbly, able to hear it all without trouble. Well done.

Cheers,

i liked the CSN&Y vibe. it takes you to a place where gods once trod the muddy upstate new york farmlands of rock and roll.

Great!
What a beautiful piece. The guitar is superb and then the vocals. A C,S,N & Young "Deja Vu" feel, still an original. Very powerful and well crafted song.

Awesome song
Love the guitar playing.....intro, and build particularily floored me.
Exceptional vocal harmonies and melody.
Lead vocals are very good....love the punctuation of the guitar fills.
Excellent moody song....female parts helped drive this mother home.
Excellent playing all around..... very very very good song....I`ll be sure to check out more of your music.
If this is exemplary of what you are about I am blown away!

Amazing tone!
Hey man, this guitar tone is amazing! The vocals are great too. I'll have to pick your brain about production techniques some time soon.

CSNY ?
This sounds remarkably like some halfway famous 70s band....

Hm. You have a nice voice, but you have to pay attention to what pitch you sing. At 1:15 and 1:20 there are some notes that are drifting all over the place. Don't just "let yourself go". Even spontaneity has to be controlled.

Other than that, this is great stuff.

BIG
Now, THAT's Rock n Roll.

Wish the EQ had brought the Vx a little more Stage Front, but I certainly got the idea (then cheated and read Lyric).

Compliments and Regards,
Cooper

Diving in
What a lush soundscape, and it's got that ambience with some teeth in it, not just another pretty ambient elevator ride. I can't help but pay extra attention to guitars in everything I hear and I'm just taken by your performance and treatment here. This level of studio smarts will forever evade me; it's all I can do to rub two sounds together and generate some light/heat, but you have it all, bugman.
