Description Trying a different approach here.Thought I'd see if I could write 10 pieces in a similar style instead of leaping around all over the place,so I've limited myself to certain instruments and a theme, namely color.Or even - colour.I bought VSamp for OS 9 and at last have some halfway decent sounds,so I'll give it a try anyway.
Hardware G3,Yamaha PSR-275
Software: Muzys,Protools free,VSamp - all os 9

thnx mcblues - just chuffed they still sell stuff online for us vintage mac users. The old piano sound I've used up until now seems really naff.VSamp - I'd reccommend it to anyone who uses vst.Its only $39/£20 and most of the samples are pretty good except the odd rubbish thing like an english horn which always sounds like a party whistle.Still - good if your havin a party,I say.

virtuosity
Very beautiful musical soundscape. The new piano samples/sounds are great! Good job! Glad you finally broke down and did it. Very complex and simple simultaneously. A gorgeous piece of music. Plus the strings are amazingly lush and seamless. Mine always feel choppy and patched up somehow. Maybe I should go back to OS9! Cheers...

As usual
I wasn't expecting that - what a gorgeous surprise. This is a very beautiful composition and played with real feeling. Loved it.
Cheers

Colourful
There's nothing wrong with leaping around all over the place.

But at the same time I'm not going to complain if you want to write ten of these. It's very heartfelt and pretty.

How do you manage to be so prolific?! Even using OS 9 you still manage to post a new tune in the time it takes me to open GarageBand and make a cup of tea. Maybe I should revert to OS 9 and drink less tea. I did used to have a lovely G3, but a ceiling fell on it.

tea
I wouldnt recommend drinking less tea.ever.When theres nothing else - theres tea.British dont you know!

The last G3 I had was a flat beige thing and I was trying to fit a hard drive into it and the lid closed on my head and I went in to work with a big gash.I told everyone my computer had tried to eat me.

Rebsie said 441 days ago

My G3 was a flat beige thing too. It was an even flatter biege thing when half a ton of rubble fell on it.
Still worked afterwards though.

I love this
it has a somewhat autumnal feeling. The cello, flute, synthy strings and piano are all perfect together.

A Man of Many Styles and Talents!
Very nice piece! Soothing and lush sounds. Very cool that this was done is OS9, I've still got an OS9 rig with Vision running on it. It's not the tools, it's what you do with them, and this is very well done.

Gorgeous!
What a beautiful melody and arrangement. Absolutely stunning in making me stop in my tracks and just get lost in the soundscape! I have to hear it again! Brilliant!

Thanks for sharing!
Keep well,
Doug

i'm
liking you're new stuff. the idea about writing 10 similar songs is a great one too (don't know if I could do it and not end up with 1 song and 10 titles). this is beautifully done, lovely melodies everywhere.

i also love your description of the party horn sounding english horn.

beautiful
This is very soothing and just beautiful. I am such a sucker for pretty piano music and you have done a wonderful job here creating a very colorful picture. I would also love to hear you play piano with nothing else added. You are very good! Thanks for sharing!

Just Beautifully
relaxing and descriptive of lushness and warmth and colours (with the 'u'). There's not a lot more I could say about this because it speaks for itself..... it's quite cinnematic too when I think about it. Well played/produced/arranged, regards M

I Like
the way the strings are mixed with the piano.Really nice work!

Wow-
I really wasn't expecting this at all. What a pleasant surprise. It's about as far away from 'Hill Top' as you can get. But just as engaging and heartwarming. I can't wait to hear your other colours as you complete them and hopefully post them.

I love the flute! The cello is a bit synthy to my ears, but still gives a nice bottom without overpowering. You play piano very well, with a really nice relaxed flowing sound.

Absolutely terrific!
I'm a new user here and the first five or so songs I listened to on here, I thought to myself, "Are these people for real?" I must admit, it is not their music playing ability but instead, the voice track that goes with it. However, I can't carry a tune in a bucket; therefore, I can not judge.

I'm not one to write comments, normally. But after hearing this piece, I had to. Colorwash is an absolutely beautiful piece of music! I look forward to listening to more of your pieces.
