It's a song but I don't really know what it's about. Just happened.
Lyrics One in Million Die Tonight

Good tune Len!
We all must do whatever is in our power to help others. But most would rather the Almighty State would take care of the problem so that we can pursue our self-destructive lives unabated and with a clean conscience.

Good presentation of a dilemma which simply won't go away and for which there are no easy answers. Well arranged and well sung.

Take care man!

lengold said 443 days ago
I am
very pleased that it got you thinking and thanks for the positive comments.

Shawn somefin
The drunken way of singing hit the spot, shwan somefin did that all the time;-). It gives it a cynical, perhaps satirical feel. Together with that guitar and slow drumming. Cool song, especially your voice, that is one awesome voice! To me, the delivery and colour resembles Alan Vega to a high degree!

Jb

lengold said 443 days ago
Continued support
Thanks Jb for your continued support - I hope you are feeling revitalised. Never heard of Alan Vega - just had a quick search and saw he was in a band called Suicide - nice and cheerful - must have a listen.

There can't be anything wrong with this...
No no nono nono nonohhhhh...

Everything's off on this one and somehow, that makes everything on... Pretty clever stuff, Len. And dare I say, that it's actually leaning heavy on the side of brilliance.

Everybody's been here at one time or another - It takes a brave soul to announce it so bodley! But how else could it be presented and be pulled off so well...

Don't know that it could have.

No no nono nono nonohhhhh...

Thanks for coloring me smile! Macca

lengold said 443 days ago
Everything's off
Really pleased you enjoyed this Macca (Dion?) and that it made you smile. It shouldn't be taken seriously.

Atonal Melancholy!
Im getting Jim Morrison/ Leonard Cohen vibes on this but then again something they have never done, great originality in this Love the atonal melancholy, always an original Len, keep giving us the new

lengold said 443 days ago
Atonal Melancholy
...That's a mouthful. What a great word melancholy is... must try to get it in a song.

Thanks for your continued support Tom, you are going from strength to strength at the moment - great stuff.

If a winnie the pooh film had been produced by the same crew that film eastenders,I could imagine eyore singing it on a rainy day in hyde park.
Great art - appeals to my cynical side.

lengold said 443 days ago
What a
vivid imagination you have. Peggy the Pooh - 'Get Ourra my tree!' - love it.

Really pleased you enjoyed this - I'm loving your stuff.

Hadda take another listen, Len - It's even better the second time around!

Thanks! Macca

lengold said 443 days ago
Me again..
Thanks again - there are quite a few songs on my ipod downloaded from here. I thought they were good to start with and then, maybe weeks later I hear them again and think 'kin hell that's really good who was it. I'm not saying mine is that good - it's just funny how your perception changes on the second listen.

Shades
of Tom Waits on a really drunk night. Or maybe Jim Morrison, or maybe Chris Whitley when he could stand well enough to play. It makes me all woozie just listening.
Philip

lengold said 443 days ago
Really pleased
you dropped by Philip, another name I've never heard of (Chris Whitley) must look him up. Glad I made you woozie - who could ask for more?

The BEATS !
The most perfect in this song is the drums. The drums really impressive and well done here. The vocal is always enjoyable .. you create your own style ! Great Moving Piece ..

As has
been said already by Feter, "you have your own Genre"......and with your own inimitable 'different' style.... highly original and great backing sounds supporting this 'reverse mentality' style of lyrics, descriptive of those who plod selfishly through life, cheers M

staggering
in a lot of ways. my first impression was a cool Tom Waits style of tune. I noticed Philip caught that as well. Maybe a fifth of whiskey and a pack of smokes to get the gravelly voice. ha!

Cool tune Len, really enjoyed it!

lengold said 442 days ago
A life
full of smokes - but gave up two years ago - still fancy a cigarette now though. Really appreciate your comments as always Vic.

Staggering work
I hear The Residents in this dark ditty - especially in the synth break in the middle - also Tuxedomoon. This has a very 80's weirdo San Francisco vibe - a very good thing in my book.

lengold said 440 days ago
And...
another two bands I've never heard of to look up. Thanks Bud - I always appreciate your comments and I am pleased you enjoyed it.

Originality
Yeah, what they say is true, you really have a unique song style. I'm reminded of the jangly sparseness of Tom Waits. I like the 3 note keyboard solo a lot. In terms of tone, this has a lot in common with a plodding T-Rex, but one with style. Cool stuff, lengold.

Fantastic
I noticed you posted a new song, not by the e-mail alert but by the picture/avatar. Some of the best things happen when they are not planned, I have had many a good nights out which were suppose to be nights in. Anyway this track has some real meaning in it and it is well composed, and great combination. Well done

lengold said 438 days ago
You are
really on a roll at the moment Keith - good stuff happening.

Glad you liked this - and good to know my avatar trick might be working.

Unique.
The song was very seductive to me as the listener. At first I didn't know what to make of it and then at the "piano" solo I was hooked. It just pulled me in. You have a very original sound.

Favin' and you got youself a fan. Thanks for sharing.

Great job!

Hmmmmm
Bits of Bowie in there, and wonderfully out of kilter, from the drums to the guitars, this keeps you guessing - really sounds like you did thisd with real drums. Love the backing "harmony".
Marvellously odd!

This new head of yours...
scares me ever so slightly yet he has a good ear for a wonderful rhythmic drum track. How he come by that - in a mashed syntax sense? I've arrived at a transient decision on New Head - he cool.

Great message Len...once again I hear something truly original, but you somehow remind me of 10cc. I hope you take that as I mean it...a truely genuine compliment!!!! I love the mood of this...it packs a whallup and brings the lyrics home..., a great listen!!!!!!!!

Respectfully,
Wade
