Description I just did this.. I heard a Jack Johnson song.
That was all it took. Im not sure if I want to sing to this or even have lyrics. It kind of reminds me of a halloween song. I know there are some timing issuses. But as always...first takes.
Just a start!! I even come in late on the bass part 1/2 through the song..
Hardware fender jazz bass...fender squier guitar the likes Ive never seen.

Jack johnson
I love JJ I like the stops and starts the chimes or clanks go real well with this. I dont hear a timing issue but I like the timing off some, just me. the background swishing guitar is a nice touch. Its would be cool to put some lyrics to this but I dont think it needs it. the repeating ending fits nice.

Hmm this is much classical sound , I mean Booker Ts
or Eddys, this can go either ways ask a rhodes keyboardest
to give this a funky beats
or go plug the mic and let your voice wailin over it.
its a very groovey songbed need a wailin sound infront
the grungie guitar walks behind .very promising song
and sure its a hit !!! keep us updates my friend !

Cool Idea
A song done along these lines would be a nice change. The basic structure is sound, fun even. I'll be listening for updates :)

Thanks
Bill

cool
i can see the Booker T comparison, and i'm also gonna put my vote in for a rhodes (or an organ at some point).

Great
I think if the timing is off, it just adds to your charm. I like the groovin line.

I think you will need to sing. I hear something really soulful in here. Some heartfelt lyrics.

I like your use of music box/windchime sounds with the bluesy strings. Keep it up! I can't wait to hear what you do with this.

Hey!
I like this...timing issues and all! (Just between you and me...I dislike overproduced music...) Really nice guitar-slinging throughout. I'm intrigued now...want to hear the sung version...so get cracking man!

Be well!

made a fan of me
this is a mighty fine tune. i actually tend to prefer recordings where some artistic license is taken with regards to timing (and/or chords). this one has such a groove to it, that most of your "timing issues" just enhance the grooviness. i do have to admit, tho, that i was distracted by the timing maybe a couple times after repeated listens--but i doubt that would have been the case had i not been listening for it. however, i do think the mallet percussion might be a little too strong, and tends to take the emphasis from your fenders (which, in my opinion sould take more of the focus).

vocals would be nice. in my mind, i'm hearing a Nick Cave-type bluesy grumble, rather than anything along the lines of JJ.

cheerz,
-=ez

(oh, and speaking of JJ, he happened to be 2 years my senior in college, and was briefly a co-worker of mine on campus).

One of ..

my favourite musichead beds .. lots to like here ..
a more advanced demo .. showing how different ideas
you had work together. I love the mallets/vibs/glocks, all the guitars and the groove- as an instrumental it has one of those soundtrack to a 60's spoof/bond thing.. if the lead actor had ever been associated with Westerns ..
"in like Flint" or something ..a scene where he's
creeping about, trying to remain undetected ..that
start stop thing gives me that impression .. only
idea is to make the ending stop after just 8 stabs: 1,2,3,4 - 5,6,7,8 .. and add some "Grand Canyon" reverb to the last one so it fades out.

No ideas for a singing melody struck me .. but I see
your on your way yourself, looking forward to the
vocal version.

Ihaaa
Great country feel in here.
Cool guitar hook. That jazz bass sounds warm and good.

The ending gave me a "The Shadows" feeling. Maybe just a "Hank Marvin" solo on top would seal the deal?

KUDOS !
Great Guitar SOUND, GREAT Bass sound, the mixing here in the 1st class, the beats so cool, nice with the changing in the chords. I'm lost in this piece, one of the best MacJams guitar musics. Yup .. agree with feter, some vocal or someone to nail it down !! This is great !

Take Care

glad to have something new to check out.
that's a squire? really? i am impressed! it has nice chime and clunk. not quite a full strat, but like a strat-tele hybrid.
i love the whole tune. it's has a trippy surf quality to it.
great tune. can't wait for more!

An Omen...
Great song here. Sounds really spooky like you say. But I also hear some "dusty dirt road through the desert in a 57 porsche convertible" kinda thang, but that's just me...
