Keywords yes that's Hank Chinaski at the end (1)
Description This was an experiment I did awhile ago, it started when my friend YRP (who just joined MJ) sent me a loop he made of some distorted drums that he never got around to using. I dropped them in the middle of this sound bed, played it for him and then forgot all about it. Couple of months later, I sent it to DJ French Toast and he warped it into something totally different. It seems like a lot of people have been checking out that song (http://www.macjams.com/song/35526), so thought I'd post this just for historical reference. The evolution of songs is really interesting to me.

All of the drums were done on the keyboard, and the sounds are all found on GB (except for the spoken word part).

Watch for YRPs stuff, he does sick twisted electronic mayhem that is a real spiritual purging. His forte is a kind of a violent brooding ambience.

(Thanks to B for pointing me in the direction to listen to it.)

Clever title, very cool mood and atmosphere to the music.
Great stuff :)

I've heard
DJ French Toasts version and love it. But good food can only be made with great ingredients and this is great.
Cheers
Len

thanks
Lengold. They are 2 completely different animals, Frenchie could have posted that and I don't know if I would have recognized it at first. thanks for listening.

Nice
Very thematic. Reminds me of "The Saint" for some reason.

Good sounds.
Really great sounds when the distorto-drums come in.
Spooky -

thanks Dolby
hey what's the Saint?

It has a Superb cinematic quality
to it! Love the feel of it, it remembers me of a seventies serie we watched in the Netherlands. The melody keeps on sticking in the brain. Just like is the case with this one. Again very tasty sir:-)

glad you liked this one. when my friend YRP starts posting, I have a feeling you're going to love his stuff.

You guys must watch some weird TV in the Netherelands :)

dark inertia
I like it... the riff and bassline fit like hand-n-glove, and never get boring, a sign of a great melody/harmony combo. Instrumentation is quite good, gives a slightly gothic chilly vibe. I think the spoken words don't add much, possibly just use sparser bits of it, I kept straining to hear what he was saying, which detracted from the effect. Really good pacing and use of effects here and there, not crowded. I could see that many things could be done with this.
ttfn,
Drakonis

michael2 said 471 days ago
thanks
i'm glad you gave it a listen. appreciate the comments (especially from one with such varied tastes).

I really like the mix of drone
and perky melody line - Henry Mancini meets Tuxedomoon - wait - that's the Residents. Cool experiment - very complete with the added voice.

michael2 said 471 days ago
thanks Bud
biba-nova mentiond the residents and tuxedomoon too, i grew up in san francisco so i saw those bands a lot (lived with a guy in Tuxedomoon too), but haven't heard them in years. have to re-investigate. thanks for stopping by.

ethereal
Kind of a grimm brothers fairy tale set music. And it's a full moon tonight.

michael2 said 471 days ago
i
just noticed that full moon while taking out the trash (and avoiding the gang of thugs that always seem to gather for some serious drinking on trash night). they were unusually docile. thanks for listening.

kinda
happy in a dark demonic pathetically navel gazing way. I see teens in trenchcoats. I see glow sticks and mascara on halloween. Now I have to go check out what DJ French toast did to it....

Impeccable Title.
Sharp tune even better title. Y'all be good.
