Thanks
Especially coming from a terrific guitarist!

Thanks again!

If I only had your talent...
Sheesh, as always, your gorgeous playing, whimsical original compositions, and friendly personality shine through. I think if your 8th cylinder started up, you'd be way too good to even see us mere mortals. I do hope you are enjoying life a way out there in your new home, you're not in Kansifornia anymore! Great to hear a new one from you, Bill! Very cute, I just barely catch snippets of the original song here and there, but mostly this is Tilerrific!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Outstanding
fingerwork - you make it sound so effortless! Lovely string arrangement and top-notch production too. Thanks for sharing.

If If Only Had A Brain Samba
this is a sunshine song ...one of the sweetest pickin
of all...KUDOS !!

Drew Kopr said 497 days ago
Great stuff!
I really like the rolling high hat or brush snare in the background that opens things up with the nice choice of strings, notes and chords. Great sounding and very peaceful music.

thetiler said 497 days ago
Thanks
Drew, I spent quite a bit of time selecting the right rhythm feel for the tune and really tried to compare rhythm sounds.

Laluna579 said 497 days ago
so pretty!
This song puts me in such a lovely mood. Wonderful playing, too! Great job.

jiguma said 497 days ago
Beautiful playing Bill
You have such a smooth, seamless style on the guitar Bill, and you still seem to be able to produce more than your fair share of wonderful tunes. To be honest, I found the shaker a little distracting - maybe just a little loud. I'd love to hear Dion have a crack at redoing the percussion on this for you - I think you'd be really surprised at the result.
Excellent use of the "band".
Lovely,
Neil

Bill... man...
have you hit a great stride in this song... yes you have. Precious sounds with that guitar, gently moved along by those strings and that moving shaker. Beautiful, guy! Say hello to Elvis for me.

If If Only Had A Hands Playing Like That !!!!
Mr. Bill, this is really beautiful happy tone, the playing is awesome as always, the quality is great.
Enjoyed listening

Forget About the Brain...
Give me those magic fingers.

This is a really lively and interesting interpretation of this song, Bill.

I'm listening on (good) headphones, so it might not be the best audition, but it sounds like the orchestral instruments occasionally overpower the guitar. You might want to try backing them down a hair to help them maintain their supporting role in the mix.

But this a lovely musical romp. I'm sensing that the change of scenery has proved inspirational for you. ;)

Roxylee said 497 days ago
Gee, Bill
Moving sure agreed with you- your music just gets better and better! Was it moving from a 100 closet studio into a real room, the fact that you have less traffic in the house to interrupt your recording, or is there magic ion the Nashville air? Whatever it is, your creativity is soaring, and we love it. :-)

thetiler said 497 days ago
Thanks Roxy
It sure is a whole lot easier to record in a larger room (closet) for the mics and the living room for the hardware.

A big change indeed. Now when there is noise, it is usually no problem. Even when someone has the weedwacker :) I can close the closet door :) I have some cords coming up from the living rm to the second level were the closet (both) is :^) But my wife hasn't hurt herself on the cords yet :) It is pretty neat and laid down. At least pretty close to laid out neatly.

Thanks for remembering about my other set up Roxy. I appreciate it alot!

Ha ha...
Great work Bill. Love it! What a nice way to interpret that ol' OZ melody line.

I think we may almost be on the same page. In my new acoustic piece I utilize "Row, row, row your boat."

Be well!

I Really Like
your relaxed take on this song with the travis picking. It sounds like you played part of the melody then improvised a bit.
Have you ever heard Tuck Andress's version? It's on "Reckless Precision" in a medley of Oz songs.

thetiler said 495 days ago
Thanks Ibstrat
I'll have to check it out!

Macaudion said 495 days ago
Always dense w/ content....
And you seem to always, be drifting into new and interesting directions. To be able to consistently do that is a rare and special gift. - You're a beautifully, creative soul, Bill!

Made me feel lighter...

Thanks for the lift! I really needed that!

Dion

Great
This is a great take on an old classic, wherein the song upon which it is based is clearly audible, but mostly what I hear is you Bill, your wonderful playing and originality. Do you also have "whistle while you work" in there?

thetiler said 495 days ago
Ya,
I put that in cause it gave a flavor of fantasy, it seemed like the poor scarecrow needed to whistle more cause he was overworked in the yard in the hot sun:)

Airy and Light
This is a gorgeous uplifting piece - if dancers say that their brains are in their feet then yours must be in your fingers! I think the strings are a great addition full of rich harmonies. Sounds like the shaker player is dancing around the room in ecstacy listening to your music!

If only I could think of a nice title...
Sweet and with a sense of musical humor if there is such a thing! Put a smile on my face. Your guitar sounds warm and crisp as usual and your effortless playing is just marvellous...and I think it's ok to have a few missing cylinders when there's a big heart to make up for it...your music always sounds like you've got yours in the right place. The fact that you're an excellent guitar player helps too of course, but it's that poised and positive energy in your music I appreciate the most. Even 100 cylinders couldn't add a thing to that!

thetiler said 494 days ago
Thanks
I know we as humans only use just a small portion of our brains. It is nice to be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

bud said 494 days ago
Great arrangement Bill
the strings and shaker were absolutely perfect. As always you r guitar playing was exceptional - but I really loved the way this tune is put together. Great choice of material.

Smiling from ear to ear
This is so playful and pretty that I can't help it!
Your playing is gorgeous and the composition outstanding. I must admit I'm not really familiar with the original song, but that's ok by me. This is the only version I need to hear right now!

Lovely!
