Description I had this spooky little 16 bar Drum & Bass thing sitting on my computer for ages and didn't have much of an idea about what to do with it. Then I came across Linda's vocal track via SecaMode's version of Psycho.

The next thing was to drop it into my track and cross fingers. Luckily about half of the vocal was in tune - the other half was way out - so I kept the in tune bits and cut it up so that it (almost) works playing at 180bpm up from the original 120bpm.

Once the Psycho idea was in place then a little bit of Alfred and Janet and away we go.

Not sure what the end result is, but hope you like - and of course many thanks to Linda for making her vocal track available on MJ's.

Nice one Phil
Interesting genre for ya - didn't think Drum & Bass was your scene.

Not sure what the end result is either but I like it.

Well done.

Thanks Graham
Yeah - I do have a soft spot for Drum&Bass and went through a real Metalheadz phase a few years ago. To be honest it's one of those genres that I simply haven't got time to get really into - there's too much stuff out there really to bother with - a bit like Jazz or the Grateful Dead - life's just too short:-))

Cheers,
Phil

Very nice one
Phil. I really like this and you've got it off to a tee this mixing lark. Good combination of sounds here and I love the beat. I think this is your best so far, M

wee wee wee!
Love the vocal cut -ups on this, and this has a great groove - great production also. I think it's really clever how you've stretched Lindas vocals out to slow the track down - this is great Phil - probably my fav of what I've heard from you. Spooky and groovy - great stuff. More like this , please!

Cheers Steve
You back from yr Hols yet? did I read Sri Lanka on one of the boards? we were on the same time zone for a while, if so.

Thanks for the comment (as always) -

There are a few things I'm not too sure about, namely the hiss I get as each vocal phrase comes in: I really tried with gates & wot-not but my inexperience showed through a bit there. I'm also not sure there's much more like this to come - I'm really a minor chord guitar player who works best at 70bpm not 180!

Cheers again -
Phil (missing Europe after 6 weeks here!)

Hey there! Sorry i came so late to the party :-) I like how you've cut up the vocal line to match your great track. It's pretty cool!! Has a nice beat and flow all throughout the song. Glad I could help fill your track. :-)

Your vocal is a fine peice of work in its own right - so glad I didn't spoil it too much:-)

Thannks for checking out the song,

Good Audio Experience
Great beats and nice melodies. Great use of the vocals, esp. when putting effects on them. I like your DnB track, you should do more. Good track.

WOW! This is definitely your best one so far. As for the Rhythm - loved it!

Brilliant
please lets have some more of this, love it, great piece of music, really. 180 is too fast for me but it is still a chilled tune and you have done a great job to it.

Cheers mate...
...yep, pretty unusual for me, but I do have an 'alternative' love for D&B. Maybe more in the future - who knows:-)) Thanks for the comment
