Description In 1998 when everything looks like
impossible deam me and my band mates
sat with a Sony Cassette recorder
with H&H 4 channel mixer and our
wooden toys(guitars) ..yamaha 20Wats amp ..
couple Mics .. and Yamaha DD10
the misrable digital drum ..this
was what availale that time .!
but we recorded like four cassettes
with neat art work and distrbut
all around the town for free ..!
but that allow us to do four peace gigs 1998-1999 ..where these
records turn to sound real with
real drums ...somehow !!

sorry ..but this is what my band
recommended it was fun to do ..
and to record and to remember for
now ..we were The Swinging Willie band ...now we are the Brotherhood ! ;-)

wish you enjoy all this !!

I have to adimt these sessions werent anything
easy to do ..and the result wasnt that satifactory
to listen to but ...this is the best we could have
that time ...and its the best when it gave us
friendship !

very fun...
you do capture a bit of old Americana here, even the Southern Drawl (accent) in the singing was great. Perfect kind of guitar playing for this, and the music (and the "faded" analog recording sound that made it sound like an old record) had my smirking big time.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Feter said 488 days ago
Peace !
o well Draki ...alteast it brings good memories ;-)
I was remembering how hard when all is playin with there
hands ..someone near need to steel the moment and do
the fade out ....!! well !!

You guys sound great! This is truly amazing stuff! It sounds very much like old-time, classic country music The fact that it was recorded on cassette just makes it sound more like the real thing. Amazing! (I know I said that already, but still... Amazing!)

This is really interesting Feter. I like listening to this a lot, and, even more importantly, I think this really shows how much we are all the same. I'm making a big assumption that this was recorded in Iraq here, but some people don't get how much we all have in common - including a musical history. A great old recording.
I watched a French film last night about a couple who travelled to Algeria (via Morocco). The film was OK (beautiful photography), but the music was amazing (both Spanish and North African). Any time you can post some Iraqi music I'll be all ears!
Peace!
Neil

Well that's a classic
Generations and generations of country/folk singers have done this one, and you not least among them. It's a traditional rendition, but I'm sure it got you some gigs.

Don't you think computers are a big improvement over cassette tapes, as far as sound quality goes?

Victor.

Feter said 479 days ago
Peace !
thnx alot Vic ... acutaly the one who is sing
is my band lead vocal Qutaiba ..I m on the lead

indeed ...computers do it now with best quality
but sure wasnt my computer I was usin back in baghdad !

I wish the one I ll have will be something good to enable
me to do better quality !!

thnx
peace !

p.s
but tapes got there own taste !!

my god
this is awesome too. I was thinking that after my rock period is over, i was going to move into a folk phase, and you do it so good I may have to rethink that decision. I think that you could be a huge indie rock star, what with that nasty slide and a drum machine. this made me smile.

Feter said 469 days ago
Peace !!
O my friend ..I m very pleased you enjoyed this
and yes the SWB did couple indies with there own
blusy way ..it was fun to live in the 90s where
the indie rock and alt rock folk rise ..I m so
thankfull for your kind words ..I ll keep my eyes
on your songs ..just keep them comin ..all cool !!
