Keywords Eastern (10)Kyrgyzstan (2)Kyrgyz (1)Belly Dance (1)turkish (7)
Description I absolutely love the desert fulte loop it is a very emotional sound.
My wife loves eastern music and I am beginning to love it too.
When we first went to Kyrgyzstan we tried to get married in a place called Osh. We were drunk and I was singing 'we're off to see the wizard' when we were hit by a car TWICE. Just like a bad movie when everything is perfect and then Wham.
Lyrics My wife, Kyrgyz girl
Don't ever leave me on my own
My little Eastern Girl
Don't ever leave me

Took me a lifetime to find you
Now I'm so happy arn't you

My little Kyrfyz girl
My little wife

Went to see the Wizard of Osh
But he wasn't in to us
We saw the Wizard of Osh
But BANG on the floor

BANG on the floor

Went to see the Wizard of Osh
But BANG on the floor

Not a lot left of the story
Just to say I Love You

i ADORE the story behind the song!!! :) brilliant! lovely sound, i have to admit i have a big weekness for flutes, even though looped. cute. thank you. pavlina

lengold said 541 days ago
Pavlina, I could write...
...I could write a book (maybe I will) about our adventures in Kyrgyzstan trying to get married. It was an exciting time.

Thank you very much for commenting. Obviously only heard that loop because of the competition but fell in love with the haunting sound of it.

Thanks again

Big change...
from your last posting! This is nuts, but groovy! I think your voice is fine, though maybe a little tiny bit low in the mix ... sounds like Mr Curtis with a bit of Jim Morrison. i tell yeah Len, the way I record vocals is this - if I can listen to the whole track without something buggin me, fine. If there's anything you don't like on the vocal, redo it, 'cause it'll bug you forever.

Nuts
Thanks again Steve,

I know what you mean, I have a big problem with impatience (always have). I just like to get these things done quickly and move on. But, you are definitely right and I will take try to take more time in the future, maybe even try to write lyrics instead of just saying the first thing that comes into my head.

Cheers
Len

Flippin' 'eck ...
Well, this is the most original and unusual thing I've heard on MacJams in a loooong time.

As Steve says, it's a bit mad ... but in a good way! And I like the vocals just as they are.

lengold said 538 days ago
WOW...
Thank you Rebsie, nicest comment I've had. Very appreciated.

Yes Original
Cool lyrics and eastern european women, good combo, it has that eastern european flavor as well, good job

Spasiba....
Thanks Tom for listening - I am still playing your track repeatedly.

Cheers Len

Ethnic-International
I have to say you got a real courage to\
explore such boundries with eastern scales
I dig the bass very much .. very nice !!

lengold said 538 days ago
Eastern Scales?
Thanks Feter for listening and your comments, I would love to pretend that I knew about eastern scales but just used normal chords. You have got me wondering now though, where do you find out about other scales? Off to do a search.

Thanks again
Len

I love
songs with an Eastern flavour. I like your vocal delivery as it is and those loops work so well. Both unusual and interesting. Thanks for sharing.

only one who sang! (so far)
I found this loop hard to write lyrics that would work for me, so congrats for accomplishing this.

Did that really happen?? Where you two ok??

BTW love the song.

lengold said 520 days ago
Yes...
Yes it did happen, luckily we were both OK. I was very worried (understatement) at first because my wife to be was unconcious.
Thanks Karen for your comments and concern - I really liked your version too.

Made for the Flute solo
I can't believe how naturally the flute solo drops into this - I think I've heard that solo nine dozen times in the last two days - but I swear I'm hearing it for the first time. That's one incredible feat, let me tell you.

I have a soft spot for any song that has a surreal story behind it, as well. But for sheer freshness and energy, this is top-rate. Applause!

Rik...
... Very good of you to take the time to comment. I have said on many posts that this is a fascinating loop and I have enjoyed hearing it in so many different songs.
Thank you for your kind words - the story is surreal, I agree, but true.

Hi Len
I like this version alot, and its sweet about that fact it is about the love of your wife. The music and very good and ethnic, you have used the flute well. Probably closer to the meaning of the desert flute then most people including myself. Nice.

lengold said 520 days ago
Very...
...Good of you to comment Keith, I had a lot of fun doing this one and remembering our adventures. Of to listen to yours' when I get home from work. Cheers

What a wonderfully exotic melody to set the story of a far-off place.

Love the little throat warble near the beginning.

I get the feeling there's a lot more to the story than you are relating in these lyrics. In fact, I'd like to hear some details of that distant place ... as well as more about the double car crash ... and maybe something about (physical description?) that little Kyrgyzstan girl that ended up your wife.

lengold said 516 days ago
Details...
Thanks for your comments Warren. When I write my book I will send you an advance copy. My wife's physical description is beautiful.
Kyrgyzstan is in Central Asia and is also very beautiful and where I shall retire to.
We are going back in August for a holiday and I can't wait. The people are lovely and extremely hospitable.

Great steady beat to get sucked into.
Good loop usage.
Curious and Image inducing lyrics. I picture a fantastic place with a beautiful woman and a basket of fresh fruit.
I like fruit.

I try to stay away from loops as much as I can these days, although I am working on something at the moment that is taking me full circle.
Appreciated.

Yikes
That's not a fun story.

But it's a cool song. That violin thrill is a very unusual effect. Good find!
