Good feel Sweet bass work. I'm lovin' the multi-layered vocals. The piano is a real nice touch. I like the claping and of course the lyrics. In spite of the subject matter this song gave me a really good feeling inside an everything is ok kind of feeling. Great work Tim this was a great listen thanks for informing me about it. -Nikos- |

Solid groove This has a great rhythm track, and your vocals are sweet too. Weird thing: your intonations is sometimes a bit funky, which made it sound in the first couple of measure (and somewhere later too) as if you were singing a sharp 4th step, meaning a scale of C-D-E-F#-G. That would have been pretty creative. Maybe you should take the places where you sing it "right" and "uncorrect" them.... |

great noises paul simons soul, lovely voices lovely percussion, Dr Hook's ghost. I think at times the bass could be a little dancier, maybe a latin tone might work better there IMHO but that is only me, picking. This is a great song and, polished up could be very radio friendly. EXCELLENT. http://www.macjams.com/song/31216 |

keep it up I dig the tune. Catchy. could use a slick solo. I also here what the other have already commented on ie. Dire Straites and Paul Simon. A complement. The vocal could use a bit more moxy in some spots, but I love the harmonies. I read what Vic said about the F# thing and was also wondering if maybe you could use that as a harmony rather than the first melody line. It works but is strang to my ears at first listen. Gonna download and save this thanks jd |

hey Tim I liked this track. I agree with some of the additional comments: catchy, simple, rythmic. You e-mailed me for honest feedback, so here goes: I was having a hard time getting the bridge to the end. I liked the vocal structure, but also feel in some spots a bit "more" could have been applied. I would loved to have heard a rephrase of the intro as well as a "why" you can't do it no more ( i.e. a reference to family or self or maybe that it's just not worth it for whatever reason). I think this tune has a lot going for it: your recordings are good and strong and well thought out and well put together; your lyrics are easy to remember and easily digestible; the feel of the tune is laid backand succinctly "not uptight" which is very appropriate. I suffer from many of the same limitations I listed, and I dare say I commit them frequently. I truly hope this helps. you have still rated quite high with me :) |

Real singer? Is this you singing Timothy? You sound great here. No need for another singer in my opinion. I also love the careful, sparse guitar soloing you've put on here. You have a cool signature sound with that guitar playing. I think I would recognize your playing if I didn't know it was you playing:) |

Wouldn't change the vox Tim. Sounds to me that you're fairly reticient about singing here though - my suggestion would be, if you want to re-do it, that you re-do the vocals yourself (rather than having someone else do them) after taking on board the positive comments people have made here - of which there are justifiably many. Coop nailed it for me with his "The Cars" reference - this sure does have potential Tim. Cheers, Neil |

truck meat Those guys that drive around selling meat really annoy me. I don't know why. They just do. Something about buying large quantities of meat that I know nothing about from a stranger driving around in a truck I just don't understand and can't bring myself to do. However I used to get lunch everyday from the roach coach which is even worse. Human behaviour is a curious thing. Anyway, very relateable song. Keeping the score will only drive you to a fruitless insane end. That's why I just declared victory long ago, game over, the rest of my life is just a long victory celebration. Good tune here. Can't wait to hear it when it is fully produced! and you MUST keep those hand claps. |

Brilliant! Great hook for the ear. I love this tune. I hesitate to advise you on this; hardly knowing anything myself, and being plenty entertained just the way it plays now. The core of this song offers great potential for the production buffs (which, unfortunately I am not) so I can't wait to see what happens here. Horns, hmm.........cool. |

bass walk Great vocal delivery. Reminds me a little of Mikkylunds stuff. I love the line "selling me frozen meats or some kind of upgrade" classic! The bass work walking around is excellent. Love the claps and flappy lead guitar. The mix is sparse and clean, not too much fluff. Direct and neat. Nothin like a real piano....... |

Although - and like you know - the production can be much enhanced, the core of this song is just wonderful. I'm with you when you decide to keep it simple. This is one of those tracks that is driven by a catchy melody and therefore shouldn't be embellished too much. The singing is somehow fragile but very convincing. And like Leon says... this has radio hit potential. Just send me a note when you think you could use any of my limited skills for this.
