Thank you, Caroline. You're one of my most faithful listeners, and I
appreciate all your posts.

So you played some of my tracks for your houseguests? I am honored,
thanks.

Thanks for the sprightly jazz interpretation, John!

Such talent!
I'm simply amazed!

Beautiful! Thank you :)

Such talent!
Coming from a major talent such as you, Mystified, that's a real compliment.

BTW, I have put your "Talk Like A Chicken" track on my latest Children's
Choirs rehearsal CD, and it has gotten rave reviews from the young set!
Whenever my 8-year-old daughter puts on the CD, she wants to go right to
the "Chicken" track. She likes to imitate your British accent.

Bok! Bok!
You are so kind!
Well, I'm in awe of *your* talent!

I have to laugh at the "Chicken Lesson." Though I did that as a joke for a friend
and was quite shocked to find it posted here (Thanks again, Tom A!), I'm really
glad that it's being used for a Children's Choir rehearsal CD! That's wonderful
and makes me smile! :)
Thank you!
I also have to laugh at the fact that someone is trying to imitate my (very fake)
'British' accent! Very funny!
Thanks for sharing that. Made my day :)

Memories of Brunches...
Reminds me of when I was younger and we went to eat at the local grand hotel's special Easter or Mother's Day brunches with both sets of my grandparents. There was always a pianist there playing wonderfully elegant jazz piano music much like this.
Thanks!

Nice
excursion - yeah- that's the word. Just enough to be pleasant to listen to,
but not too much. I enjoy it a lot, and it's nice to have a Stebbe piece to
download to my iPod now and again. Thanks for posting it.

Brushed and shining
So nice. Short and sweet, a perfect little rendition. Great set too. Are
you using the new Ivory upgrade or the original sounds? I haven't
upgraded (its sitting on the floor by my controller) and was wondering if it
works right...

John Stebbe said 1050 days ago
Brushed and shining
Thanks, Tobin. That's the original Ivory. I too have ordered the upgrade (at
34.95, why not?) and it should arrive any day.

The more I listen to my Ivory sounds, the more little things I pick out that I
don't like. Hard to put into words. Sometimes short, loud sounds sound
more like a "twank" than it seems they are supposed to.

I'm still very pleased with it, though, but I'm hoping the new version will have
a bit more finesse.

Couldn't agree with you more. Also, some notes have a buzz-ring that is highly
annoying, Hope they fix that too. My favorite setting is the Yamaha grand.

John Stebbe said 1044 days ago
Brushed and shining
The Yamaha grand used to be my favorite (that's what I used to record my CD
with), but I kept hearing more and more little things I didn't like. It's still an
excellent sound, but I have moved more to the Steinway and Bosendorfer
lately. The Bosendorfer has kind of a "thick" sound, but it doesn't have any of
the annoyances which I hear in the Yamaha and the Steinway.

Specifically, the E below middle C, in both the Steinway and the Yamaha, has
that annoying "twank" when played loud and short. And I still hear it in the
new version.

Oh you tease!
MORE! MORE! lol!

Got me groovin' again, John.

As comic, Robert Klein, would say, "I can't stop my leg!"

You know, my next purchase has got to be that Sonic Boom Box. Those drums are right on the money.

Nice comp and great playing.

Tasty
This is really smooth, John - your treatment of this tune is classy all the way and deftly interpreted. My only complaint is that it's too dang short! This one's going straigh to the iPod! Thanks for sharing your music, man.

J.A.Stewart said 1049 days ago
Short, Sweet and...
Po-teety-teet-teet!

This is the kind of style that I still like to hear when I first walk into a jazz
club. Up, inviting and, well... jazzy!

Nicely done.

Light 'n Breezy
Nice job! Very tasteful playing. My only complaint is that it ended too
quickly! (Why?) I'm looking forward to checking out some of your other
tunes now.

Is the piano played live? It certainly sounded like it.

Thanks for this.

bouncy and happy
This is a real toe-tapper -- light and whimsical, fingers flying over the keyboard. Definitely brings a smile to my face and a ray of sunshine through the clouds.

Nice balance between the piano, bass and drums. The piano seemed ever-so-slightly ahead of the other tracks in the first couple of phrases after the drums/bass entrance, but then settled into a nice groove.

It's so great to listen to such talented pianists on this site! You have a great touch on the keys and a fertile imagination.

I agree that this is a bit too short -- the fun was just starting when it suddenly ended! Great work though.

great stuff
Brilliant playing , and great piece of music .
Being Irish myself , i was expecting something corny but i was pleasantly surprised when I heard your work .
I would pay money to hear this live .

Keep up the good work.

Short, sweet, and swinging!
For me, this works on every level. The drums and bass have a nice sound
and a nice groove, and the piano playing just makes me happy.

Nice one!
