Description Don`t try to fight against what`s in your mind! It`s stronger than everything!
Lyrics It took a lifetime to know it`s a battle
"My life`s a mess"
It`s so hard to say
My only wish, to be a horse without a saddle
Is just a million miles away

"It took a whole lotta love"
It`s a riddle
My only friend is so hard to reach
And when we met
On the road, in the middle
The latest trick, we`ve tried to teach

The more I hate it
The more I loose a friend of mine
I can`t await it
The Sign

The only way is to climb up the ladder
Some of the rungs may be good or bad
To see the Sign
Makes your thoughts even better
You realize: Our lives are mad

Try to believe
Make up your mind
Read every word on the Sign

Guitar Solo

The more I hate it
The more I loose a friend of mine
I can`t await it
The Sign, the Sign

Soft and lazy
really good harmony vocals, and as always incredible production.

well polished song
ultra smooth harmonies.
A pleasure to listen to.
cheers

perceptualvortex said 1140 days ago
Great sound
Very nice playing and singing. I dig the swinging groove in this piece, kind of hypnotic. Great job!

Peter Greenstone said 1140 days ago
excellent
This has a flavor of Steely Dan. Those lush harmonies and that slick jazzy
guitar, the whole thing is warm and vibrant. It pulls me right in. Great
talent.

PUT YOUR NAME ON IT
I just downloaded this and found that none of the tags were filled out so
it comes up as an anonymous artist, nothing attributing the song to you.
I manually put the info in myself but I suspect that most people won't do
that and it will get lost in a long playlist and possibly get passed on to
other people who can never know who made the music.

I give this same basic speech whenever I find that someone has neglected
to fill out their tags.

thetiler said 1140 days ago
cool wes montgomery feel in the beginning
Very nice, like the guitar work afterword. Nice singin as well. Like your
James Taylor type tonality you get out of your voice. The harmonies are so
lush as well.

Great going! Cool percussion feel. This tune is can put a person in a nice
mood grooving to the sounds.

gitjunk said 1140 days ago
great feel
i really love the way you play and sing. there`s so much in it, it`s amazing! once again an unbelievable piece of music.

Kulturbeutel said 1140 days ago
wow, its artistic
this is definately the best youve made here at macjams. overwhelming and wonderful.
highest marks for that.

Aaron David said 1140 days ago
Very good... jazzy
Very good mix and overall "groove". Definately has a jazzy feel to it. Very relaxing to listen to and I like the lyrics. Well done, my respect is earned.

jiguma said 1140 days ago
Another great post Ingo
Another great post Ingo! Love the bass, love the Steely Dan guitar -
you're sounding more and more like James Taylor vocally. Great
harmonies, fantastic song. Have I forgotten anything? Oh yes, brilliant
production. Like Peter said, make sure you put your name on your
work though. Neil

Not my type of music
But sometimes I am surprised by things I hear and are open to new music
I never thought I initially would like. This is one of thus moments, with
this clearly very good and inspiring song. The lyrics are very good as is
the vocals, wow. Everything is well performed and the mix sits very tight
in my speakers and headphones. Very good work.

Well done
Excellent presentation.

Has the feel of waiting, subtle edge or unease.

Gradual afternoon
Sweet guitar.
Sweet harmonics.
Sound with good bass.
The melody is wonderful as usual.

drakonis said 1140 days ago
nice and smooth [insert name here]
This is great smooth music, nice melody, excellent singing/harmony,
nice mixing (*very slightly* muddy, needs a tiny bit of sparkle-boost &
bass boost I think?) And because this so good, I'll reiterate Peter's
comment... with great music that you are posting for the world to find,
make sure to add those mp3 tags in the file (AND insert your music
artwork in there too!) so that when this great music wanders to other
people's iTunes, they can see who wrote it & find your URL in there!
ttfn,
Drakonis

A big, fat download!

Totally Professional
This could be on any easy listening station anywhere. Great laid back
smooth feel with nice production.

[Insert Stuff Here]
Myself, i would like to know a little more about how you recorded the
song. You listed a little bit of your hardware.. but what about musical
instruments... musicians... did you do all of this yourself... i gotta know!

Again, nice piece.

Ready for Primetime
Hello I.G.M.
Great sound. Like Wes Montegomery and James Taylor all rolled into
one!....Boy, if you can keep up the consistency in quality I see no reason
not to do a CD and go on iTunes....you do it through CD Baby, ya Know.
BRAVO! Peace, digitalnirvana9

so...
...easy on the ears! All the elements are so smooth. The guitar is
fantastic - yet another person on macjams who makes me wish i was a
much better guitarist. The harmonies are so spot on. Piano
accompanies nicely too. Congrats on a good 'un!

Ejh said 1138 days ago
Excellent.
It's really got that Steely Dan sound in the rhythm section and guitars,
with echoes of The Section. Lead vocals have that JT tonality, and the
harmonies are resonant of Crosby Nash at times, too...

The songwriting itself, the lyrics especially, are your own all the way.

Your songs and productions are just flat out excellent...

And Peter's right. Put your name on it.

Very Smoothe
Kinda "Steely Dan" gets James Taylor to sing lead vox - beautiful
performance and production.

aralim said 1138 days ago
really nice song!
You've got a great singing voice, and your work on the chorus to put in
the harmonies was spot on. Great job on the guitars, too!

My only quibble (and it's a minor one) is that there are a few points
where the vocals got a little "mushy" and I couldn't quite make out
what was being said. Other than that, this was very well done!

stevel said 1138 days ago
This is great
Great track...very polished indeed! This reminds me of the first Steely
Dan album 'Can't buy a thrill' (my fave one)... the guitar work and
vocals are excellent. Well done!

although
this is a bit out of my field of "expertise" i rate the production values,
the harmonies and also i thought the lead guitar if thats what you call
it, was very chill and nicely done.
the onlly detraction, was somehow the chorus about the sign could be
made to be more memorable, bbrought out a it by bringing in a
different instrument or something to make it stand out

Mickeymoo said 1136 days ago
nice work
Good flowing song. It fits in all ways. Excellent to hear the keys having a go too. Great solo guitar to complement the feel of the song.

drumgodvirtuoso said 1135 days ago
sounds good
good eighties feel.
I feel like singing along with.
definitely grabs atttention.
thanks for the listening pleasure!

It's not my type of music, but what you've done is excellent under all
aspects. My deep admiration...

Balancing act...
Not only physically, but musically as well. Very nice "venture" into the
"Other". Maybe "New Age" or even "Rock" as a genre for this? James
Taylor stylish, yet unique in it's own sense. Great production and
performances... musically and vocally.

TEXASFEEL said 1134 days ago
Very clean and refreshing
thanks for sharing this. It's easy on the ears and nice to take in.

JT meets John Mayer
Two of my favorites, and you keep sharing tunes that are just as good.
Not only good in writing, but as professionally done as anything
anywhere. You are really good. Thank you for sharing your music for
free, we are very lucky!

Steely Dan man...
This is one of the best... maybe the best song I have listened to on
MJ in the two years I have been here. Perfect, cool. The level of
your performance, the artistic arrangement, the production, and the
absolutely out of sight guitar and vocals. It is really a pleasure to
listen to this song.
Yeah, Fagen and Becker... make a little room for this guy up there on
the stage. He deserves it.

So very, very cool.
