ed this is a beautiful song not only it is very professionally made, all the instruments, singings, harmony vocals, really lovely lyrics ( i wish i was at least half as good lyricist as you) etc, but what i love the best is the fiddle interlude. it gives me goosebumps, so beautiful it is. it reminds me of irish ballads. it almost sounds to me like... ed, isnt marigold... irish? she is irish, isnt she?! she is a beautiful irish lass with long shiny hair, green sparkling eyes and a thousand of tiny golden freckles on her gentle nose. im in love... it is so lovely... and the dulcimer sounds like a birdie trilling. and your guitar like a caressing lullaby. oh you made my day ed :) |

Just lovely Ah, this is just lovely music! So well recorded, well performed and pretty! Maybe even too harmonious to make a hit song. I am getting very interested to hear more about this band and this time. Did you perform at places? Did radio stations play this and other recordings? Were some of you whole time musicians? Etc... |

Exquisite folk... ...like this gets me every time. First you had that gorgeous violin, then you threw in the hammered dulcimer. No fair! ;) Really...this is a beautiful song, the lyrics so soothingly poignant and endearing, the performances so well done. Thank you for sharing this one here, Ed. |

Sounds like a song The quality of these tracks is remarkably consistent, the nice thing about this style is that is does not 'date'in the same way that other genres might, you could have written and recorded this yesterday! I guess that is because folk music tends to sit outside of what is considered 'fashionable' in the industry. Great performances as usual...a very strong song Steve |

Pleasant little tune Strangely enough, it made me think of Dixie Chicks (probably the fiddle, which is excellent) but that's a good thing. Excellent soundbed to this. Couldn't really pick out the dulcimer but that's not a knock. I'm guessing it's a subtile contribution and those are often the 'make-or-break' parts of a tune. An excellent Sunday morning song. |

Instrumental parts! I love instrumental parts - especially with stringed instruments (I play one myself), woo! I really like the intro, and the lyrics are really moving. The feeling this song leaves you with is one of emptiness at the lyrics but awe in the way they are presented. Way to go! |

If mastering tenderness is possible... Hey there Ed, I tried to listen, but haven't been able to play it all the way through until now. My persistence pays... Of course, this is another wonderful piece. You have mastered tenderness, it seems. It's late in the evening, the lights are out, and I'm enjoying a very nice glass of wine, and 'Mairgold'. Your songs, they invite me to hang out in that well protectected cushy little place inside. I love the simple beauty in your arrangements. Always, always precious and they never fail to land me in a good place... It seems that you are rubbing elbows w/ some first rate musicians here. What to say..., I truly am taken by how well everyone plays on this. It's like, trying to put my thoughts about it in text, well, it only takes away from what I feel is really happening for you guys on this one... Your lyrics, they always seem to resonate w/ me and as well, they tend to be of a universal chime, of sorts. That silence that you're singing about - it is hard, but sometimes, it's the only place that we can be about something and it's very difficult to get through, at anytime. The melody is sweet and tender. Nice capturing of a moment that we all know too well. This is a very special song that I will need to send the link to a very special and close friend of mine. Thanks again, Ed. This one is truly special. Dion/Cydniko |

Vocals sound like . . . a cross between John Denver and Bobby Goldsboro. (And that's a compliment! I really dug those guys.) A well-constructed song with pleasing harmonies. You're the best- sounding psychotherapist I have ever heard. :-) Seriously, this song is expressive in a sweet romantic way. Thanks for sharing. |

harmonies I like the harmonies, the singing, and the overall production. The sound is sweet, although there is something bittersweet about the melody. The violin (I mean fiddle!) is beautiful. Downloaded and added to my firesuite playlist. Nice job. |

Sweet song Do you miss those days in the band? I always wanted a band based on acoustic guitars and harmonies, with piano and strings. It must have been fun. Lovely stuff. |
