Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked a million times before -
I'm trying to transfer a GB .band file to someone else so they can do a remix of one of my songs. I want to send the whole file with software instruments, loops and recorded tracks.
How do I go about this?
This isn't a "where do I upload it to" qusetion - I have my own web space, and also a .mac account - both of which I've tried uploading to - without joy.
I have a feeling that it's something to do with the linked 'media' files - e.g. the .aif's that are created??? Should I be zipping the whole thing up first, or something? If so, how do I go about this?
FYI the file I want to send is 135mb in size - so not tooooo big.
Any help gratefully recieved:-))
Cheers,
Phil

![]() Jim Bouchard | August 31, 2007 8:34:58 AM To share a GB file with someone else, you need to "Save as Archive" and that will include all the loops used in the song. Then find the GB file and zip it, which you can do by right-clicking (or Control-Click) on "Create Archive of....." Files with a .band extension don't go through the internet all that well, so that's why you need to zip the file. The internet likes the .zip extension. Once you have done this is should be fairly large size, probably too large to upload unless you have an ftp client. So what you should use is something like yousendit.com, a free file transfer site that you can sign up for and which will enable you to send files up to 100 MB. Since the file is over 100 MB, you could use something like Pando. You have to install their application, which you can get for free from Pando.com. |
