I came to London to pursue a 'career' in music and it has been the most up and down journey in my life - I've had contracts given to me and taken away with the blink of an eye - why is it so hard to get ahead here? Coupled with the fact that I have always had a job, being able to be 100% focused and indeed have the energy. I know it's technically supposed to be easier these days, not needing a label to get you where you want to be, but I think one does need a label, if you want to make in such a way that you can only do music and survive.
Now - I am currently without a producer and it's amazing how a short time spent not gigging can zap your confidence so I am looking for someone who has the love and time to nurture a musical relationship, make high quality songs and who has or knows how to make serious links in the industry.
I look forward to hearing from you wherever you are!

![]() Rebsie | August 18, 2007 6:01:08 AM Mitra ... I'm not in a position to offer help but I do know how easy it is to get discouraged in these situations. You're very talented and have a fantastic, gorgeous voice, so what ever you do don't give up! Something else will come along, I'm sure of it. |

An agent (or better yet, an agency) will take a bite of your profits, but they'll make up for it by sqeezing hard on your behalf every commercial opportunity they can find. An established agency will also have plenty of connections.I came to London to pursue a 'career' in music and it has been the most up and down journey in my life - I've had contracts given to me and taken away with the blink of an eye - why is it so hard to get ahead here? Be sure to ask for agency references of current clients AND clients that have left within the past year. Its the clients that are no longer with the agency that will give you the candid assessment. Pay an experienced and independent attorney to look over your contracts before you sign. |
