I just got back from a week away, and have (at last count) 25 MJ email alerts for songs from my favs. This is just to let you know that I'm starting to attempt to listen and comment on them all. Could take some time! My apologies for the delay :)
Cheers,

I...I...I've been here all week... and I have no excuse... and I have at least ten email alerts lined up from favorite artists already...

I'm thinking by July...DEFINITELY...

Sigh.

Too much creative talent 'round here.

Welcome back, Neil! For some reason, most of my favorite artists tend to post new tracks ALL AT ONCE, it's simply never a trickle.

After a marathon effort, I'm down to zero new tracks to listen/comment and fav. Some seriously amazing songs amongst them - most notably http://www.macjams.com/song/30684 by Peter Greenstone and http://www.macjams.com/song/30563 by Tadashi. Lots more to boot!
Cheers,

For some reason, I have an image in my head of one of those "I Love Lucy" episodes where she's starting a new job on an assembly line (maybe it's a chocolate factory), and she feels she's got the hang of things, then the assembly line starts moving faster and faster... until she can't keep up any more, and general chaos ensues.

General chaos ensued for me a long time ago, I'm afraid. I am in the final stages of a very intense/stressful semester, and for months I haven't been able to keep up with all those E-mails anouncing new releases by my favorite people here. So I'll just take this opportunity to add an apology from me as well.

Keeping up is hard work at MacJams! I'm amazed that there are people like yourself who manage to do it so well!

I'm very interested in your post.
I imagine listening to 25 new songs be a bit overwhelming.
Is it the obligation of friendship to get through them all at once?
I don't expect it will be something I have to worry about, but I suppose the energy you expended to listen and comment (as well as others) is what propells this community.

I found the time, and I have to admit there were one or two "song deleted" pages amongst them. An interesting point re friendship - I don't see it as an obligation, and I don't fav artists unless I genuinely enjoy their music. In quite a few cases I just want to catch up so I can then start listening to new music by new people - see Tobin's forum thread "New Member Alert". I don't like to miss new songs by artists I like - simple as that. Sometimes I don't comment on every song, but I try my best.

I rarely listen to other music than MJ artists (and I don't have a day gig at the moment), which gives me more time to record and write (and to listen here).
