I use Logic Express for recording & arranging, and have been using RAX for live performance. With the future of RAX in doubt, is Reason the best performance rack out there ? Or is ___ better ?
I need to be able to layer several instruments along with an audio track, and would like to be able to easily change rack settings on a song-by-song basis.
The major programs cost a lot more than RAX, and I would like to guess right the first time !
Thanks in advance for your advice.

With Reason you will be able to layer several instruments along with several audio track. You could also save any number of rack settings and then load them however you like and whenever you need. As far as the price goes, I have a copy for sale, you can contact me if interested.

Hi. Elephant. What are you using in RAX?? I mean RAX is set up as a mixer for plugins correct? Reason uses only the items within. You can't add any plugins like in Exspress.A bit more info would be better. Or rather best. Whichever one sounds better. I mean best. LOL. I also am not aware of any. I thought Plasq purchased RAX and now has RAX2 available? T

Sorry. Wasn't aware Wormhole an RAX2 were no longer going to be available. That stinks. There is also KORE by NI. But that will set you back a bit. But it will do all that RAX can and Much.Much more. Other than that in a low range there is Apples audio unit host. Don't know a thing about it. The main problem with most of them is you still have to wait the load time.Very bothersome. It might be worth a look see as to having your plugins assigned to tracks in exspress. Then use program change inserted at different bars of a song with no note data. Also volume changes. So say at bar2 three instruments are adusted in regard to volume (silly on/off) as well as Program change. It would be better to mute the tracks at certain points however. Then you just go a bar prior to the Rack set-up and clck play then stop and let it happen. You may wish to investigate this firther. One great stop is the Yahoo "Logic Users Group". Or LUG. Be specific with your query as far as what you want to be able to do within "EXSPRESS" Not Pro so people can be of more benificial help to you. Let us=Me know what you find. I've never needed to do what you need to live. Live I play guitar. Taylor
