I purchased a copy of Reason 3.0 this past weekend and well i found out the hard way that you cannot directly record audio into Reason. (for example: my guitar to mbox to reason) I can record in lets say garageband and then export that file and then import it into reason... but that is such a pain... I thought I had read that reason would record but I was mistaken. SO, I am selling my copy of Reason but i am not sure where i can sell it.... I paid $400 plus tax for it... If I could get at least half that ($200) I would be happy. I am located in the U.S. and accept paypal... Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hi. You use reason as a rewire item. So you use GB for the audio and Reason for its' stuff. Here's how it works. Open GB.Then open Reason. GB is what is known as the master and Reason the slave. The order of opening the app.s dictates this. Also GB can't be used as a slave to my knowledge. And Reason can only be used as a slave not master. Important to note when closing the app.s you go in reverse Reason first then GB. The tempo of GB is the tempo that Reaason will sync to.You don't need to worry about not seeing any input for Reason in GB. I assume after having Reason for the amount of time you mentioned you have the ability to follow along. Open a new song in Reason or load one of the demo songs that shipped with it. If you create a new song and then add a mixer and then a REXplayer. this will help you understand how it works. Now load a drum rex file into rex. Click to track. Now when you push play in GB you will hear reason play the rex loop at the tempo of GB. So that is how it works. I'm not able to help you anymore with this. Only to let you know they work together. You have GB for audio as well as loops and software synths. And Reason for massive sonic possibilities that GB can't even begin to approach. You're set. I would say to take a month and learn how the 2 interact before you do in haste what would be in my opinion a foolish thing. You will be very pleasantly surprised at what you have at your disposal but just aren't yet aware of. T

Taylor's a good guy and Reason is a great app. Do as Taylor says, and you'll have a blast! Don't give up on it quite yet.

Cuz. Yeah you got a dilemma going for sure. I'm assuming you meant G4. Not a bad thing. Just not as fast as some others. The unfortuanate part is there isn't many ways to optimize GB or Reason for a slower machine. There are some things to consider. The most obvious is get a quicker machine. RIGHT.. You're all over that as am I in my dreams. If not however then....Well you know..There are some things worth looking at. In Reasons' Preferences make sure to uncheck "use high resolution samples"..This will give you a very small but perhaps helpful margin for the better..Not much I can reccomend to streamline GB,sorry. Then there is the matter of 2 things that may be helpful. Firstly. The amount of RAM you have installed. MAX AT ALL TIMES.. Rule of thumb for audio and software synths etc..Coupled with the amount of actual real estate you have avaiable on your HD. Best to not exceed 75% used. Not so easy if you have a small HD. Got 10GB of tunes in itunes?? If you can burn then to CD and get that space back..DO IT. You can allways listen to the CD. There is also a very invisible part of the equation. You can repair permissions three times in a row. I reccomend it. BUT it will not defragment your HD. It won't put things back together in an efficient way.I swear by Diskwarrior. It is from a company called Alsoft. I run it from time to time and it puts things back in shape. Not to say it will give you the power of maxxed RAM or increase the ability of a taxed HD to operate better. But it will increase the speed and perhaps the sluggish nature of some areas on your computer. So the first thing would be MAXthe RAM. If you have say 512. You aren't going to find another app. that will most likely run any better. Open HD space. And repair permissions at least 2 or three times in a row. Even if you put another 512 ram in you will have a GIG at your disposal. That shouldn't break the bank. But if you can install a 1GIG ram card. Better has become much closer to best. Now you have 1.5GIG of ram to work with. Again if you don't have sufficient HD space you won't be as optimized as possible. Sorry for the ramble. T

well i tried the suggestions and still no success at running garageband and Reason at the same time. My computer just cant do it... It would need a complete over haul and I would rather not do that. Where would be a good place to sell Reason?
